Nothing yet, guys. I apologize. I slapped my spare carb on for now and it was fine. I do appreciate The help with fuel pressure. I think that could've been one of my problems. The carb was completely fresh but sat without fuel in it for about a year, so I think i will take it apart and see if anything is stuck. Sorry to keep you guys waiting! I will respond as soon as I get some time to take it apart.

Hey guys, just another update:

Being the rookie that I am with these carbs, I looked right past the fact that the needle and seat could be stuck... It was a fresh Q-jet, however it sat for a number of months before actually getting to put it on.

Nonetheless, I was told to tap the front of the carb, pulse the fuel pump for the initial filling of the bowl, then let it rip.

Sure enough, no leaks.

Thanks everyone for their help and technical expertise! It was just a simple fix (or procedure) that got me back on the right track.

Yep, knocked on quiet a few Q-jets over the years. :D If you take your stored carbs and run a little atf thru the needle/seat and accell pump after draining everything goes much smoother the next use.

If the Viton tip of the needle valve is dried out from age, etc. you will get it to work for a while, then it will leak again. I had this happen with Rochester 2-jets and new needles and seats fixed it.
