Travis,

When these were ok 10 years ago, why were they un ok'ed 2 years ago? Do you have any reasoning for this?

I'm sure there are many people who have talked to NHRA officials about getting a rule changed or getting something accepted. However unless a request in writing is mailed or e-mailed to the proper committee person, it is just talk. If you want something considered for 2016, it must be put in writing and received before the end of June 2015. I do not know how to make this point any clearer.

So to request a Stock or S/S rule change, the request needs to be sent to Bruce Bachelder before the end of June 2015.

His e-mail is BBachelder@NHRA.com

I guess it wouldn't do for NHRA tech or higher ups to notice something that needs to be changed for safety.

Oh I am sorry that happens all of the time ...

I drafted and sent a email addressed to Bruce with an official request to have aftermarket strut rods legalized in stock eliminator as a safety issue. I would like to encourage everyone else to do the same. Tom Nolan

They were never ok'ed for Stock. A car showed up in teardown at a National event that had them on. The determination was made that they were never legal for Stock. Just because someone may have been running them on their car in Stock did not set a precedent and make them legal.

I thought that Bruce retired earlier this year with
some health issues.

As far as I am concerned, if we are racing a 40-50 year old stocker or Super Stocker, why not be allowed to put in some parts that are newer/safer???? Personally, I trust the suspension parts of my 68 Dart, but......they are 47 years old. As long as the weight is OK, what difference does it make, other than they might be safer.

OEM style replacement suspension parts are available to the general public. Even for 50 year old cars.

Travis, from day 1, they were approved for Stock and Superstock. It was not just "where someone showed up" with them on a stocker. This goes back to Vegas over 10 years ago.

Hey guys, don't just settle for aftermarket strut rods. I just sent an e mail asking for rack and pinion for my camaro stocker. I am sick and tired of dealing with this prehistoric front suspension. You know it's getting harder and harder to find parts for these older cars.M.J.
