You forgot to mention another highlight of the event - Harry Morgan in the Underdog FWD Escort was #1 qualifier! He made it to the semi's as well. Congrats!


As for the jacket, nice try. I actually did feel bad for you. But it reminded me of Chicken Little! :p Great race nonetheless. Looking forward to next time. :)

Speaking of naps, I'm still recovering from the weekend! I dozed off at 9pm and just woke up having to close up the house, shut down the computer and turn out all the lights. Gotta get up for work at 6am. :(

I knew you were serious, but despite liking a practical joke, I'd never actually do that during a race. You did rather well for your "diminished mental capacity"! I wasn't taking you lightly. I expect our next race to be a good one too.

Can't help but remember the first time you ever went to West Palm Beach. It was about 1979 or 80 that you followed me and Diane down there after we had to talk you into going. It may well have been your first "out of town" race.

We are proud of you. You've done very well.

Harry was late as usual! He made a Q run on Saturday morning and ran 10.86 on the HF/SA index of 12.00! Harry said he put a new motor in the "Escort Service" Under Dog Ford. Had all of us going "way to go Harry!" That thing is gunna fly in good air! Jim

Thanks Carl. Did I almost run into the back of you all when we were at a stop sign near the track? I think it was 1979 that I finished 9th in the 5-day points footbraking!


And I'll never forget what may be a record of sorts for a track - Orlando had 3 or 4 division champions out of 5 in 1980 - Super Pro (Silver/black Camaro?), Pro (me), Sportsman (Ann Tillman) and not sure about the motorcycle champ. First year NHRA crowned World ET Champions the World Finals in Ontario, CA.
