Re: Pro Mod or Pro Stock?

Even though today's PS doesn't resemble a factory car,it's still a performance based category.I wouldn't eliminate the class unless the car counts really fall.As for PM,today's performance levels achieved are closer to a TAFC,being about 3 tenths slower.

Re: Pro Mod or Pro Stock?

No, leave Pro Mod where it is.

They do need to FIX Pro Stock, it is basically all Camaros now.

How about the supercharged new cars in Super Stock (Ford, Chevy and Mopar) made as equal as possible and run them as Pro STOCK, stock hoods and all?????

Just my 2 cents which ain't worth much these days.

To ask this question here in the Stock/SS section, a performance based class is not going to get a vote towards PM. PM is a power adder class every way you slice it. PS is a performance based class, yes lots of dollars to play, but they don't turn up the boost, or add more nitrous to compete against the competition. PS has to work on the entire package to compete against their competition and finding HP is one of the keys to being competitive. PS is a different style of racing and is not comparable to PM in my opinion. S/SS racers have an understanding of what it takes to compete in a performance based class, where most do not understand the investment and hours required to run a car without just throwing power adders or parts at it.

Just a simplified view, PM is not a replacement for PS. PS may have issues and it needs to update with the times, but it is not dead yet.

I agree. It's which Camaro will win today. Anymore it's Erica. The all Camaro show has lost me.

I would love to see f/s replace pro stock but very un likely. If pro stock doesn't change an car counts keep falling they got to do something.and can't deny pro mod puts the fans in the seats.

When I go up to watch Pro Stock, the stands pretty much empty after Top Fuel and Funny Car. Hardly anybody up there watching anything else. I haven't notice that many watching pro mod.

Removes one part of racing but allows racers to run fast and feel they are getting off cheaper.... Less thrashing dyno time etc.

pro Mod is a all out class. there is no bracket racing there.

But I would not want them to switch.

As a racer or fan?

It's the same answer for me, Pro Mod. With a clutch. But Pro Stock is probably my second favorite class.

PS is good ,close racing but that's about the only good thing about.
The body mods allowed is what lost it for me.
They look like Pro Mods on gas.
Don't even watch it anymore.

I'd watch this:
