Sorry about the age I got that wrong.

He told me on the phone it was the "Brooklyn Heavy car"

Now as far as which one it is I am not sure because I did not ask him that question.

That's okay. I'm pretty sure it's the Vega. I vaguely remember reading somewhere on some forum that Carmen still owned it. Now, what I'd like to know is this the ex-Grumpy's Toy (first) Vega?

NHRA Pro Stock rules clearly state no outer wheel well modifications allowed. How was this car allowed to race with these obviously radiused ones?

I will give Carmens grandson a call this week and get some more information about the car.

I believe that when he told me about the "Brooklyn Heavy"car he also said it was the one with the Hemi in it.

When he said it I did not think to ask him which car it was.

His mother was Carmens daughter.

Jim,

Could it be this car? I have a photo (somewhere) of this Duster painted up in Heavy's colors.

Wondering if any of you know if the Brooklyn Heavy Challenger raced in 1970 was beige with a tan interior. I have a ā€˜70 Hemi Challenger that was raced in the ā€˜70s. Rear wheel wells were opened up.

It is not Grumpys car. Heavys Vega is the first car built by SRD. I would like to know if it is the Vega. I started a SRD Facebook page. I have an early SRD Vega. Somewhere around 4th car built. I have had Pete Hutchinson verify the car

Anybody have contact info for either Rotonda or Boyd relatives? I’m trying to research the race history of a 1970 Hemi Challenger

Carmen didn't have a daughter only one son. The speed shop was in Bloomfield, NJ. Carmen rolled the Vega on a track down south, sold the car and stopped racing shortly after that. He lives in a retirement community in south Jersey now.
