It is my bad, I did not think to explain the Super 10 has a Chevy 12 bolt.

Re: rear gear change for the Super 10
A note about the cryo. and rem treatments. I had my dana gears treated and they have a chrome like finish. After about 50 runs they look new. You can barely see a wear pattern and each time I drained the gear oil it also looks new. I mean like just out of the bottle clean. The only concern I had was after treatment the ring gear did not register on the spool snug at all.
MW has a supra fin treatment but not sure if is the same thing. |
Re: rear gear change for the Super 10
The update is that I decided to install a Richmond 5.86 pro gear out of the box. After some runs I will remove the rear cover and have a look. [that will be next spring]
In addition, I decided to use two quarts of Lucas 85/140 conventional gear oil. My reason for changing from 6.0 gear to 5.86 gear is to lower the finish line RPM about 200 RPM. Testing will verify my hunch, I expect the starting line leave will be the same and the engine will appreciate not being out of RPM range at the finish line. |
Re: rear gear change for the Super 10
I have more rear gear information and photos on the Super 10 buildup thread.
