Hey guys look on the brightside. If it rains we will have one giant public swimming pool (again).
ps: bring your own swim suit

Charlie, Did you leave Trip to protect your rig?

Guys:

I don't have a dog in this fight anymore but if NHRA can fine
sportsman racers for oildowns why can't sportsman
racers charge NHRA for holding their rigs captive? Is it not
their responsibility to provide everyone with a 'decent'
facility to race? What if a guy could not come back because
of job or any number of reasons? They then would have to
pay to come back and get their rigs when it became possible
to move them. Turn about is fair play I say
You know it's not the first time for this kind of problem ant this
track. They (the owners) were going to fix this problem years
ago,ha. Just like little Billy.

Dunno about swimsuits, but bring sweaters and jackets, it's going to be a chilly one.

Larry,

Do you have any insight as to what the potential contingency plan is if Saturday is a washout? Would we be racing on Easter Sunday? Monday? At Belle Rose? Not at all?

Thanks

Fletch,

Nope, I don't have a clue what the fallback is - I may go out to the track tomorrow and I could ask then, but most of those who are returning will be there by then.

I know that rigs were being moved all day today. From the info I got, anybody there was getting moved. The bad areas are good enough to get the rigs pulled out. My suggestion is to come tomorrow, if possible, and get your stuff out. There is a free "test & tune" from 1-6. Then more after that if you want to pay the regular Fri. nite deal which is about $15, I think.

As far as a "contigency" plan, there isn't one. At this time there is no commitment to Sun. or Mon. I'm not going to hang anybody out to dry, but I've been told that they aren't rulling out those days. The latest forecast indicates "showers" Sat. mostly in the afternoon. They want to run this race if possible, so, if eliminations get started Sat., then get interupted, those days will be a consideration.

If you have doubts, come get your stuff and leave. Your entries are transferable. I know some racers are coming tomorrow, watching the latest forecasts, and deciding what to do Sat. AM.

I will be heading out there tomorrow around noon. If I can do anything, call me - 281-685-8131

Oh yea, the high Sat. is supposed to be 49 with a 10-15 mph semi head wind !!

Saturday's forecast has progressed from iffy to down right horrible. I hope everyone enjoys making time runs in the beautiful weather today...after all, it's a free test and tune...

Dave Kommel got off his plane and checked into his hotel - then read NHRA.com and got lucky, was able to get a return flight to L.A. this afternoon.

Sorry, guys and gals, I'll be staying home this weekend after all.
