Sounds like great weather for the race. Let's hope everyone has a good time and this season starts out great. Looking forward to several Div.6 cars going many rounds.

Rigs pulling in. A bit of a cluster with the numbers handed out. Seems some racers who came later and got lower numbers. 5 more to go and we're in.

A couple photos today. Tech line and they're calibrating the scales.

I'm sure looking forward to being in Pomona, for the 1st time ever! It was this race back in '72, with "Da Grump" (the late great Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins), and his Winternationals winning Pro Stock Vega, that got me hooked into the sport, and soon I will join you there Bob, and I can't wait!!!!

The very first National Dragster I received as an NHRA member was the 1972 Winternationals results issue. I joined as a freshman in high school.

The best drag race I ever attended was the NHRA 1962 Indy Nationals. I was 23. It was a different world. There was no Christmas Tree, no nitromethane, no alcohol (on, nor off the track,) no handicapped starts, no throttle stops, active nor otherwise, no Funny Cars nor Pro Stockers, no motorcycles, and EVERY RACE WAS A HEADS-UP DRAG RACE.

There were wall-to-wall spectators and 1,200 race cars. No typo...

I see it as the high point of drag racing in the USA. I was fortunate to have been there.

After that, things started going downhill, and haven't stopped, yet. :(

Just my opinion...

Not much to report today. Already 80 degrees. DA is 2351. I'll try to get some pictures to post in a bit.

That is the best statement that has been made on Class Racer in years and I can't agree with you more. Although I'm not always a fan of the way that NHRA treats us, when it quits being fun I'll find a new hobby.
