Sounds like a lot of fun. A few things:
1. A good rev limiter. No sense taking out the engine if something else lets go.
2.Rob Youngblood on the clutch. He's the go-to guy for this stuff.
3.Build it right from the start with good parts. That rule always applies.
4.if a 4 speed was so easy, there would be more of them. Nothing like them, however.
5.Yes, a stick car can be consistent. That's where experience counts.
Have fun with your new project!

Be careful what flywheel you use. Smaller engines don't like the light weight stuff so much. Their are treatments out there for gears to make them last.

Really? My Super Stock 4 cylinder probably make less HP than even the lower power stocker engines and I have had huge performance increases from using lighter and lighter flywheels. Heavy flywheels went away when the quality of friction materials allowed for clutch slip. In my experience, the flywheel is no more than a reaction surface for the clutch and a place to hang the starter ring gear.

you are correct. I've always used lighter flywheels, they RPM faster !!!!

Cooter ya got me there. I thought late 80's was LT1. Oh well. You know I've been wanting to go class racing lately. Sounds like it's finally gonna happen thank God! I've been leaning towards the Pancho anyway. Anyone got named "Western Swing"? Lol.

Tried getting in touch with Brad on Facebook but no luck. I imagine the guy is pretty dang busy as it is. He seems to drive kinda like I do, but minus the delay box and powerglide. Lol. If anyone knows how to get in touch with him that'd be great.
