Those lifters mentioned if you are putting them in a .844 lifter bore they are to small.

Comps, Crowers and ISKY"s are .8405 to .8415 in that area and to put them in a GM lifter bore that is .844 and more so on the old blocks with short lifter bores. Running lifters in a bore with .003 clearance lifters are not happy and will show it as they looked scuff because they are using the bottom of the lifter as a cutting tool.

Morel seems to be to OEM size whether its a .842, .874 or .904

When machining for roller lifters I measure I measure each lifter and make sure bores are machined accordingly.

Thanks Carl. Next move will be to a .904 lifter. Does Morel offer needle and bushed? Which do you prefer?

If your going to a .904 and they are fitted .0014 to .0019 oil clearance I would go with a needle to date any .904 Morel I have sold or customers have sent me has had zero problems. Bigger body, bigger wheel and bigger axle. They also are an Ultra Pro lifter which has pin oiling.

They do offer bushed as well.

My feeling on the bushed lifter is the jury is still out on those I have had some interesting calls about bushed lifters in the last year or so.

Nothing wrong with reducing weight , 1/2" pushrods are there to improve the stiffness of the system . Lifters are already pretty stiff , so reducing weight without compromising durability is probably OK .

Weight of anything that moves matters,
With that being said strength and durability
are first then look for weight reduction. Not
roller stuff but there is up to 50grams each
weight difference between the heaviest and
lightest hydraulic/solid lifters, not as much in
pushrods but there is a difference,you don't
need baseball bat pushrods in a stocker with
400lbs open pressure.

There is nothing wrong with it, It just ain't as important on that side of the valve. It's OK. It just ain't to be obsessed over.

Yes, wrong end of the rocker to sweat weight that much.

My engine guy in Tampa ran into that issue with the .904" lifters in Mopar engines. He said the lifter bores were originally .9050" to .9058". The lifters were .9040"-.9045".. Now the lifters tend to be sized for a .904" bore. He finds a lot of leakage of oil like what was in that video.
