Re: NHRA Charter

Anybody else notice that the priority of "safety" and "sportsmanship" was reduced from #1 to #3 with (#1) changed to "Improve business conditions in the sport of drag racing and in the hot rod industry (#2) and to promote and advance the common business interests of those engaged in the sport of drag racing and the hot rod industry." ? This is exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate Greenlight posting this. I'll be working on getting my own copy this morning (I like being able to hold things).
I'm not a Lawyer but I do know a few and I'm pretty darned sure that the above paragraph gives Sportsman Racers a basis for one he** of a Class Action Discrimination Suit!

What do you plan to achieve?

Billy, you should contact Bruce Noland. I think he still has a bunch of info about this particular deal.

Unless the charter gives member voting rights, it would be the board of directors that would elect the officers.

As far as discrimination, the one avenue that maybe viable is the pros get free admission into national events and sportsman have to pay.

Pros don't pay an entry fee like we do but they have to be a "space rental" fee. It's not a free ride.

I was told the pros pay big bucks for their spot rentals and all their support vehicles. Been like that for a while now.
