The bummer is the scheduling, bottom line. I will be at Toronto and Norwalk entered in SS. Oh, I will also get a much needed grade point.

I will be running the event at 42 this weekend and also the nationals the following week. I cannot take the time off work to drive to Toronto nor can I justify the expenditure when I can race for $5k for a hundred bucks less than 30 minutes away from me. With that said, which one will you be attending this weekend? When was the last time you've had a heads up race? Will I see you in stock or super stock next week at Norwalk? I see 3 N's in your upcoming response...neither, none, no.

If Joe keeps the classes separated as he usually does ( until the end) and there is a strong car count, there will be strong chances of some heads up runs .. At the Dave Layer Memorial that Rodger Keeling put on down to the now defunked Kanawa Valley a couple years ago ...The Final was a Heads-Up race . De-De Layer was adamant that it was going to be Heads -Up ... And it was .. No scales, No Fuel check ... The finalist were pitted right across from one another, so it was a little easier ... But when there a will ...there's a way

You are correct I won’t be at any of them. I have had heads up races (got my arse handed to me) But that doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion. I feel there are three different kinds of racers in stock/super-stock. All I was pointing out was what type of racers I thought would be going where.

1 The guy that is all about the performance, all they care about is winning class and going fast. These guys probably don’t go to many local combos.

2. The purist that believes in the sanctity of class racing. And likes the restricted rules and competing against like cars. They only go to races/combos that follow the spirit of the class. Where performance matters and heads up races are included. That follow a ladder based on qualifying. Odds are they would go to a national open over this type of race even if they had to drive by this race to get there.

3. The guy that is there for eliminations and doesn’t necessarily worry too much on the performance side. Or purity of the class. They most likely decide where to go based more on the payout. They are probably a great driver and run plenty of bracket races when not racing class. These are the guys that will gladly run this race. And would probably drive by the national open to get to this race. I couldn’t blame them. Great payout for the entry fee.

What I don’t get with this race is why they are using RT for pairing and deciding any buy run. They are using the rules for a bracket race not a class race. It looks like Nitro is helping with this race he knows what he is doing as far as setting up ladders and running a class race. If they got the same 55 cars it would be 100 less than what they paired up when he helped at the US class nationals. This would be a piece of cake for him.

Becuse with NSS cars in the mix there is no real set indexes for them plus a guy that normally runs let's say H/SA could run a lower class with not running scales it could be 2 seconds under deal so using RT's is much easier. , I do it cause I enjoy doing it
