Jimbo ... it wasn't that I "couldn't" go to the NHRA G'ville points meet ....for God sake, I was the defending race winner.... I "choose" not to go, and that my friend is "THE POINT". (I admit when I heard that they were going complete the event on Saturday, I damn near left Bradenton Friday night for G'ville, figuring I could be back to Bradenton Sunday - naw, too old , lol ) - I love racing, my racing friends, NHRA, NMCA, IHRA, Local STK/SS, ...(doesn't matter).... BUT, I'm sorry, under the current circumstances, (that may never allow me to race again), it really ticks me off to hear whining from racers about "stuff ", STUFF that in the giant scheme of things is truly unimportant. Prepare your Hot Rod, select the races within your budget and time allotment, Go Racing and have fun! ... HAVE FUN ! ... It's your choice............( NMCA ...fish in a barrel ... ok .... can you swim Jimbo ...LOL ...)

OK, But! Wouldn't you have liked to have gone to BOTH races? If hey were on different dates you could have! That's my point. Why keep putting the races on the same date and make races have to chose between them? Jim

So....correct me if I'm wrong. With NHRA Division 2 going to a 2 day race format, couldn't we qualify at NMCA Bradenton on Friday. Race Gainesville NHRA on Sat., return and shoot the NMCA fish in the barrel on Sunday?! ( It always rains on Sunday at G'ville anyhow, and they won't change the date! ) ... Conflicting Race Schedule Problem Solved ! ....lmao

Ha! Guess you got it figured out then! Too much driving in one weekend for this old guy though! Jim

That is a possibility but Rich Shaffer will probably want to run a round of eliminations on Friday evening and screw up that plan. I really was hoping that they would fix that conflict this year. I would have attended.

Bit confused here, I haven’t even found the NMCA schedule for 2018, can someone provide a link to that? I’ll be back out next year and trying to put my own schedule together and prepared to make choices that allow me to try one of the NMCA events.

"In reviewing that race it was like shooting fish in a barrel for you. Jim"

Yes there was only 8 cars at NMCA first STK/SS race I would hardly say it was like shooting fish in the barrel for Jim Bailey....The 8 racers there might disagree with that statement.

Re: NMCA NHRA Conflicting races

Is it not possible that both organizations had contracts in place with their tracks for x number of years.( i know NHRA owns several of those tracks ) I know NMCA events are typically the same weekends at the same facilities every year. The stock/superstock combo class was obviously added with NMCA last year. I don't think they would be ready to move all their races to make sure they do not compete/conflict until the numbers show it makes a business case. Let the class grow and see where this goes.

This may not be the case but its worth a thought.
