You end up cutting something to make it fit on a A-Body Mopar anyway. I've gone 440 B/SA in my Dart so I figure the CSR is worse with it. Scared to spend 500.00 to find out.

I also spent the money on the CSR carbon fiber complete flex plate, torque converter, transmission shield. I have a B body and can tell you that it does NOT fit into the tunnel even after cutting it up into [4] four pieces, waist of money. When I called CSR to discuss the issue NO help, just that they would not re-certify if modified/cut to fit. I explained this to Pat and he asked me to finish cutting/section shield to fit, epoxy it back together send it back to CSR and see if they could remold or modify to fit and to get back to him. Tough stuff to work with and I don't think they will work with me anyway. If NHRA does not allow us to modify the tunnel, mopar racers and possibly others are gonna have a tough time even with a blanket,at least you can crush them. The tunnel is reinforced with a structural member in the area of cross member/torsion bar collar. Pat also mentioned using a SFI case I'm not aware of one for 727.

I was able to use a CSR shield on by 67 Belvedere but had to do two things . To fit the shield to the trans , I had to cut quite a few bosses off the trans case . The shield fits like a glove , So I have it on the trans before I install it into the car . I have to let the engine tilt down in the back or I can't get at the top two bolts . I did trim back the flange where the trans tunnel to the firewall hangs down , then after the trans is bolted up to the engine , I jack it into place and install the trans crossmember . Its tight but it all fits . I wished that CSR would clearance the shield for the ProTrans band adjustment , and change where the buckle is for the strap , because its is wedged up in the trans tunnel , just move it down a few inches . Glad they are finally making the shields again , they were out of stock for almost a year .

Is it possible that the 67 tunnel could be different/larger than the 70? I doubt it, but know that the manual transmission cars had a larger segment on drivers side to fit the shifter, also need to know if the new design CSR shield that you purchased had a large rib across the top towards tail shaft?

Has anyone tried asking NHRA to allow the tunnel to be modified so a shield will fit?

I asked the other day about just putting shield on inside of car "on top" of tunnel since your MAIN objective is protection for driver and didn't get an answer OR IS IT PROTECTION OF SURFACE from oil downs?

Is this rule because there are so many transmission explosions in stock?

I haven't even burned up a clutch disc in my 45yrs in stock. We don't use transmission brakes. The way I see it Super/Street and E.T. racers are required.
Darn blankets get super dirty. Drag your straps throw the water box for a little extra cooling.
