Can someone post a link? The only excessive braking happening up here in the north at this time of the year is when some Masshole(official correct term) cuts you off on the highway.

Thanks

My son immediate upon exiting the track took responsibility

Indeed, he fully expected to be thrown out of the race and would
have accepted that without any further discussion!

We are grateful to NHRA for the warning and understand that there
will be no further warning given to him this year.

I can only speculate that the consideration that he races a dozen
Divisional and National races for the last 10 years without a single
incident or issue (500 plus passes) = may have influenced NHRA's
decision on how to handle the incident.

I also immediately communicated to him my disappointment with the
situation ......He does fully understand further issues may mean that
we may park our team for a period of time.

He further apologized to the Torres Team for his actions.

Thank you for the explanation.

John/Jon I don’t personally know you and I don’t judge people based on them stating their opinion because I assure u I ALWAYS state mine...lol...and like I said originally I wasn’t bashing your son for his driving as I’ve done the exact same thing, it happens. My point I was trying to make that somehow has gone askew is NHRA’s uneven applying of the braking rule. I think if the precedence is one warning then next time a DQ we can all live with that. As long as there’s a clear line in the sand and the rule is enforced evenly then everyone can race. That was my whole point all along, but it turned into a whole different can of worms, even as far as one person claiming we were “whining” about what happened to Emmons last year...all u can do is laugh sometimes...lol

He was but the one he got DQ'ed on he did nothing in my opinion to warrant a disqualification.

Being a relative newby here, I have not piped in here on any of the controversial subjects out of a healthy respect for the dues you all paid through the years while I was sidelined elsewhere. However on this subject I believe my experience with Irving Family Racing qualifies me to testify that both John and his son Jon are exactly the kind of people that you can be proud to call a colleague, competitor and if you're lucky a friend.

When I announced my return to Drag Racing in this forum last September the first offer of support and guidance I received was from John and his family, in fact upon learning of my need for a trailer John towed me one that Jon had built from Nevada to San Diego to help me out. Now I realize that most of you do not know me and therefore would probably be inclined to discount my position on this, but it is my humble opinion that when Wally was thinking about putting family first @ NHRA the Irving Family was exactly what he envisioned...

We are thankful and appreciative of everyone's
understanding in this matter.

BTW: The very next round I dialed him 3 to 4 hundreds faster than
the car could run so he would NOT have any reason to touch the brakes......period!
