Re: Super Stock Car, less Engine?

Ed I would think that it would have more value as a complete car but I don't know squat. I guess as a roller it would give someone the option to run it as a GT combo so it may make it more appealing. I would start at putting a value on what you think it worth as a whole and compatible to cars like it, then break it down from what you think the motor and trans are worth.

Ed, sorry about the circumstances that are curtailing your racing. Commend your dedication to your wife though. People who know you and the car will place value to the car beyond what even another Custer car would bring. That said it’s surprising how cheap some of the FJ cars minus motors seem to be going for. Assuming your car has a good ProTrans or equivalent I’d guess 27-32K...just my SWAG, certainly no offense intended. Maybe reach out to Mark Faul or others who sold good Super Stock cars in the last year or so.

Ed, take your time and think this through. Place a reasonable price on the car and if it doesn't sell, oh well.

I don't know the exact health issues your wife has or do I need to know. Spend all the time you can with your wife - you won't regret it. I didn't have a racecar to sell, but I don't have any regrets now. In case you aren't familiar with what I am talking about, look up the thread Carguy49's Road Trip - Final Chapter.

Ed prayers of you and your wife. I put everything on hold last year as both my mother and fathers health started going down hill (My mother went to heaven on 5/6/18). My dad has alzheimers and some other issues but prognosis is not good. Every day is a blessing that he still here.

We only have our loved ones once here on earth. My car is still sitting on jack stands, now it is to hot (Texas Heat) to do much with it. Even told my family I was going to sell it, they all said absolutely not. They know if I sell it will buy another one...LOL

Hope you don't sell the car, again our prayers to you both.

Ed,

I would give Vic or Dewayne a call.

They may have an idea of value plus they might now of some interested buyers.

It looks like Duwayne has a shop in Lufkin, I don't know if Vic is still doing anything in Nacogdoches or not.

Bill
