Just got the word that Stagin' Steve LeTempt will be in the house to announce the S/SS Combo, which will be great as he knows everyone. He'll also be doing interviews for his internet radio show on www.realracinusa.com, which will air the following Wednesday at 8pm.

Mike Petrie rattled off a half-dozen or so folks coming from his neck of the woods. What about some of the NC crowd? Chip? Herb? Macy?

It's actually a pretty easy jaunt. I made it from Piedmont to Pageland in 2 hrs, taking I-85 most of the way. If you're in the Asheboro area, I found that I could take a bunch of mileage off by going through Biscoe and Troy, and picking up 109 South.

Thanks Mike Mayhew for the kind words in your earlier post. I wanted to stop by and welcome all the class racers to Pageland Dragway. We're looking forward to hosting our first SS/S Combo this weekend. I can't thank Michael Beard and Mike Petree enough for putting this race together. We are a door car track and the fans and spectators here at Pageland love and appreciate these type cars. I would love to work with the class racing community to bring Class racing to Pageland Dragway once a month in 2008. We want to work with *YOU* the racers to put together a program that you'll support while helping us grow our program in the process. We have an open ear policy here and want to work together as a team to give you something you can be proud to call your own.

Here we go, a good track that will work with us. I'd like to find out how many S/SS racers live within say 4 hours of Pageland. Michael B., I bet you know. Maybe coordinate a schedule for next year.
Once a month might be hard to do with everyone traveling to NHRA/IHRA races. But with costs going up, maybe a neat series to stay closer home for ?

Mark, if I had that over the wall crew here at the house.............I'd never leave !!!!! :)

Roxboro does them monthly Apr-Nov, 2nd Saturday of the month, and Piedmont starting running them on Sundays the day after each. McCandless said he already has sponsors lined up for a great points fund for next year at Piedmont. Those combos typically draw 20-24 cars, that I've seen.

With Pageland added to the mix for next year, offering something for the racers a little further south, it should be a great year for regional class racing!

Jamie - y'all might want to put some more weight on the nose... my Volare doesn't hardly do wheelies to speak of, anywhere but Pageland!

No Thanks, there is a sign just past the head of the staging lanes and before the water box that says "clean your tires". Well if the car ahead of you does just that all the rocks come flying off their tires at the front of your car, I have enough chips in my hood from my last time there.

I raced there all year long, and have not had that problem. You'll be racing with other S/SS cars, who I'm sure will be cognizant of where and how they clean their tires. You can also leave a little room in front of your car at the head of the staging lanes.

Ducktape you know that I would love to come and show off my new decal on the wagon and support you and Mike but grand daughter is having her dance team this weekend and we are going to watch her you met her at Carolina. Anyway Mark will be there to represent Billy and me. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.:)

I can't make it today. Thought this might happen this weekend. After 3 straight days of rain here I have an emergency job that's gotta be done today. I either get a house off a lot today or a nasty land owner takes this widows home away with a writ.

Sorry you'll miss this one Mike, but at least everyone else may have a chance now! ;)

Leaving in a couple minutes... Lee Truell called, he'll be there. If THE LEGEND got his head gasket changed, he said he'd be there.

Congratulations Michael Beard on your WIN tonight! Glad you waited 'til the finals to make me look bad instead of 1st round! ;~)
