I agree that road race sliders are the way to go for street use, but not quite as good for fast powershifts, especially if you tend to "forget" the clutch. At a stop, push in the clutch, push the shifter into first, go. Upshifts are straightforward but the parts slamming together will be quite loud. Downshifting, also loud but works fine with road race sliders. It will also stay in gear without keeping your hand on the shifter while driving.

Also keep in mind that there is a huge amount of "lash" between the face tooth dog rings and the sliders, so any on and off the throttle will feel very strange compared to a syncro street style transmission. For drag racing, a Jerico (or G Force) is great, but as much as I like these transmissions at the strip, I think running one on the street very much would get old, real quick.

I had Liberty's build me a faceplated (1-4) T-56 6 speed for a street car, a little finesse and it's great on the street. You learn it's nuances and quickly adapt.

I have a faceplated gforce t-5 and its crisp clean shifting at the track and I do drive it on the street!! No issues ..it does clunk in every gear except for 5th... I can downshift it as well

hi. yes you can use it on street, be noisy, . also they can be down shifted easily. you blip throttle a little, in neutral then it'll go right into gear, . like one guy stated , old trans were straight cut gears, you double clutched them. I learned about that when I was 16 , driving a 1948 GMC truck, no gear grinding, hmmmm. takes practice!

I'm really considering one of those for a 427 68 Acadian. How do you like yours ? How much HP are you putting through it ? I plan to make 450-500 with mine... but on a small tire.


T5 fits the floor unlike the faceplated TKO 600 in my 72 Nova.

I love it!! Runs 10.70s on motor
