Re: Terrible first outing.
Jeff,
Seize the challenge one step at a time. The leaks are basic, find the baseline with jetting, timing and valve lash and work to refine, it will reward you. |
Re: Terrible first outing.
Keep after it. You may want to invest going to a dyno to get jeting and pesky leaks addressed. I think it's cheaper than trying to get it sorted out at the track. An oil leak on the dyno won't crash your car. Be careful dyno's are very addictive!

Re: Terrible first outing.
It could have been much worse....
I know a guy that crashed his stocker first pass at Winters AND destroyed the Christmas Tree and all the related wiring! |

Finally a great weekend of racing with wagon. No oil leaks, no smoke, gained 1/10 in et and went 3 rounds.

Re: Terrible first outing.
Don't try to make your first outing at a Nat Open or LODRS with an untried combination. Work out all the bugs in your Stocker/SS at your local track. While you are at it go ahead and enter the brackets in order to get some seat time. Seat time no matter what you run is something that you cannot get enough of.
