Re: Team Orders
Was that before the Lottery? There are other factors that could discourage that practice. Fans buying tickets, players playing for contracts and the Leagues themselves not wanting it. Not sure what NHRA`s position is.

The 76ers tanked for a couple years in a row to get the best draft picks. They even called it "The Process" and had a slogan for fans to "Trust The Process." |
Re: Team Orders
I think some people are upset about team orders because of the term TEAM. Drag racing was founded and rooted as an individual sport. It was one man and his machine against 1 other man and his machine. Some people who are great racers have never been fortunate enough to have a enough money to be apart of a team. In the pro categories it does make it harder, almost impossible for a person with a single car to do well. I think that’s why people have a hard time with the team concept. You can equate it to a football team laying down and letting another team win because they are both from the same conference(team) so the winning team can get a better bowl game. The fans from other conferences would not like it. But in defense of the team concept they are flinging it for the chance to win more races/money which is what the sponsor wants. With the changing times it is something that I don’t think we have any control over. Just my opinion. Which my wife says don’t mean anythingLOL. Merry Christmas everybody.
