Re: Stock Eliminator
I think the OP exaggerates almost every one of his "facts". Maybe, you can spend $60k on a SS engine, but do you need to, of course not. I doubt there are any $5k stock heads except for maybe some of the really rare stuff. Plenty of inexpensive combo's out there, but it's not the good old days:rolleyes:

Re: Stock Eliminator
I believe it cost me 2500-3000 in 1979 for a complete Ritter and Weber engine.Yes sadly I spend a couple dollars more now. Most of it for myself ends up in the short block. New crank and rods weren't something needed 50 years ago.Still don't spend 5 in the heads. Maybe Aluminum heads are costly. Have no clue. I'm not into that part of stock. An aluminum intake cost me enough to stay away. Every piece on the cars today are more. Buy a wheel.
I surely don't miss a ballast resistor burning out at the wrong time or putting a pushrod through a rocker arm in the burnout. Glad those days are gone. Paul Haszlauer C/SA 7019 |
Re: Stock Eliminator
Sarge bracket racing is a weekly program
Can race any where with any car. Class racing is not bracket racing .have to have a legal rear to race. Billy please continue to point out to Delusion Dan ..Pure Stock don’t count Thank god Nhra is a little picky with what a stocker usually the people bitching about the cost are the same people racing on the keyboard.. it’s cheaper |

I am never going to stop. Interesting I get blamed because I do not spend enough money on my car. Then you come along, complain I spend more on my car then yours. All you have is a Pure Stocker with a anything goes cam !! Do you at least wash it ? Then other posts others complain about the cost of Stock Eliminator Racing is too expensive and looking for suggestions. Hell NHRA still not allowing CM cars which is logical solution. Then complain about new racer are not being attracted to Class Racing. So you guys chase Class racers away. Then complain they do not follow you after you pummel them. So guys get together and get your arguments straight. They are all over the place. I love racing and bought my car new. Played with it every year..until it could run Stock. FWIW I can still put in my street gears, AC, and street tires on. AND just walk away from you Noobs ! Which is what most of the IHRA Class racers did ! Hello GUMP: Yes Division 2 Opens do allow Pure Stockers...! I am planning to Tow up to the Canadian NHRA Opens races at Napierville and Miramachi. Wondering if the Opens in US allow Pure Stockers? Because if they do I am racing there. I will take my business where it is wanted. Dan |

I am never going to stop. Oh please, do us the favor! Interesting I get blamed because I do not spend enough money on my car. Then you come along, complain I spend more on my car then yours. I didn't "complain" that you spend more money on your car than I do, I stated a fact. All you have is a Pure Stocker with a anything goes cam !! Do you at least wash it ? I wash it once or twice a year whether it needs it or not. I ain't there for best appearing. Then complain about new racer are not being attracted to Class Racing. So you guys chase Class racers away. Then complain they do not follow you after you pummel them. Who's "pummeling" new Racers? FWIW I can still put in my street gears, AC, and street tires on. AND just walk away from you Noobs ! Yeah, yeah, yeah, I could take the gears outta my stuff too and go for rides with the grand kids. I've got other cars for that. But it sure sounds like a good idea for you to do just that. I will take my business where it is wanted. Please do! |
