Re: L.A. mayor considers banning outdoor sports.....
How did Cancer come into this conversation.
I do not see the connection or how it is pertinent to this topic. BTW: I am not trying to be unsympathetic or cavalier about Cancer I have endured over a 1/2 Dozen Cancer Surgeries = One of the last - 12 hours plus for Kidney cancer. It will perhaps be my Demise and many other folks as well.....My heart and prayers go out to them! BUT: It is not significant to this Political Discussion. Rod owns and lives on a farm.....I am fairly certain that he is familiar with what Sheep looks like = He was using a figurative term and not a literal one. |

The cities and states that have liberal democrats as mayors and governors will be the last to try to return to normal. They have a political agenda along with the health issue. We have all heard that the government is trying to open things up soon. I have not seen any movement toward that in my area. Its past time to do that. I think the county that I live in now is voting on some more restrictions today.

The track is in the City of Pomona and their mayor is Tim Sandivol. LA Mayor has no say.

The Fairplex is closed until June 1. Nothing has been announced for June and beyond. It wouldn't be a surprise to see it remain closed for an extended period of time.
As far as racing is concerned, can nhra survive this pandemic? nhra, like most not for profit outfits, squanders most of its earnings on its top executives each year and may not be holding enough cash reserves to weather this storm. There has been no word on layoffs from nhra so we must assume it is ok for now. But how long can it hold on is the question? |

I just have to say...... Rod look at the numbers of people in Michigan , New York that are sick and how quickly its spreading . Look at history . 1918 -1919 Flu Pandemic 675.000 died in the USA alone. I can be a sheep for a while.

Exactly. When was the last time the New York City / North Jersey had more sick people needing hospital beds than there were hospital beds? HOAX Virus = Mindless Lemming Stan |
Re: L.A. mayor considers banning outdoor sports.....
my 2 cents. This virus has to be taken seriously.read bobby bennett story about his ordeal with the virus.
From what i have seen it is spread by spittle. now, with that said, you cannot be a spectator at a large event without picking up spittle. think of the following touches, railings, elevator buttons, door handles, paying for concessions, person next to you or behind you. i can see businesses open up with everyone wearing a face covering (to keep spittle to yourself) and pushing social distancing and supplying hand sanitizer and get back to business. big crowds anywhere, not sure when that will happen with out a cure or vaccine |
