I use the Canton Racing Sandwich adapter $92 on Summit, cheaper on eBay...

Just curious as to why you would not plumb right from the threaded port above the filter as shown in the picture. I have been running an accumulator for many years and use a swivel fitting from that spot to the accumulator. Why would you need adapters etc?

If you have enough iron at that location to safely drill and tap the threads needed to install a large enough fitting so that the oil passage is the same size through and on both sides of the fitting and your lines have adequate clearance then no problem. An oil filter adapter is just one way an accusump can be easily installed on the filtered oil side with out creating a bottle neck to smooth oil flow or machining the block.

I didn't get the little M, I have the SHP block (25lbs lighter).
