Weibes chassis parts worked very well but from what I understand he’s no longer making the stuff. The Dick Miller parts work very well too. There are a few guys running the ‘70 402/375 combo that I’m sure could help you out. As for wheels, I run 15x10 with 5.5” backspace. They Center in the wheelwells near perfectly

All good info and thank you. I will research the Dick Miller parts because as you mentioned, doesn't look like there is any way to buy the Weibe kit.

Re: Chevelle Stocker Question

I have my 1969 Chevelle in G/SA with a 396/325hp combo. I have been told it has been reduced to 316hp in the Chevelle body. Check out HR Parts and Stuff, they make a anti roll type sway bar that works great. We have the same bar on our K/SA wagon.

Re: Chevelle Stocker Question

[QUOTE=DiMEC1;644733I originally thought that the 427 in B/SA might be a better option, but that is a no go for the NHRA because '69 SS cars were not available with a 427.

What's the problem here? If you want to run the 427, Take the SS emblems off the front and rear..Cover the holes in the fender with a decal.
Trust me, nobody cares...There's no tech..Even when there was, they very seldom looked up classification..I doubt any of the players in B/SA will care either ;-
Good luck.

And if you don’t want to potentially damage the paint with a decal and it’s removal then apply the decal to magnetic sheeting and trim the sheeting to fit.

Re: Chevelle Stocker Question

I think it comes down to your budget. Starting out with a 325 hp/396 with a automatic vs. a 425 hp/427 with a stick are worlds apart in dollars. The next factor is time, getting the 325 hp down the track on a consistent basis will take a lot less testing than a 425 hp stick combo. I would like to tell you go big or stay home (lol), but I wont. The 425 hp stick combo is not for the faint of heart!! or pocketbook!

Thanks so much for all the good info guys. As I said, I'm a former Super Gas racer, so this is endeavor is worlds apart from that, and way more challenging. Hope to see some of you out there next season.

Re: Chevelle Stocker Question

Just wondering what kind of 60' times were guys getting. I have a 69 Camaro AA/SA with the 427 combo. The Chevelles never came close to 60' foot times of the Camaro. Is 1.48 for a 325hp combo descent in G/SA?
