The farther you go down track, the worse the problem becomes with a spragless. The stator is just in the way.

This goes for sprag converters too.

I've had sprag converters in this car, one actually ran about the same et as my best spragless. Almost.

I'll buy two converters are not the same but,a couple hundreths not tenths apart.

You just got a hold of a dud, for a head to head with a sprag converter which works decent. I've had a couple duds over the years sprag and spragless. It didn't tell me they're all duds.

It's pretty apparent I have a fast spragless converter. I had a fast TCI sprag converter years ago, I should've kept and made spragless.

Mike not trying to be condescending or exclusionary here, but what you do ( not even sure what that is) is not even remotely comparable to about 98% of the cars in this section.

I say it's apparent I have a fast spragless converter, assuming whomever reads it, can put two and two together. Not comparatively, and I don't mind you believe the myth on spragless converters but figured it could do no harm to share my findings. 23 sbc 3200 lbs.

No Myth to believe.
Not disputing your testing, just your conclusion
I have never had a customer with a Comp car go fast with a spragless.
Years ago we did a lot of converter testing with an A/ED. (7 similar A-1 converters)
Best MPH and ET was not the spragless.
My SWAG is the two converters you are comparing are not built exactly
the same. The window or the stator back angle could be something different
between the two and your engine/gearing combination likes it.
IMHO converters are like twin sisters. They may look alike and be numbered the same, but they are a little different.

I gave my opinion in post #7, and then tried to explain it further in post #11. At this point, you can believe whatever you want for now, in America.

It's only logical experience guides my beliefs and not opinions based on no experience.

You won't find a faster 3200 lb 23 sbc in the world with a set of out of the box, off the shelf conventional 23 heads, on a 10 x 28 bias tire.

The beauty of it is, the driver built the engine, transmission and setup the gear.

That's what I do if you're still wondering, drag race.
