Re: The mines are now closed (AHFS)
"The decision to adjust horsepower or to reduce the index will be at the discretion of the NHRA Tech Department."
Only time will tell what this all means, but I think NHRA using their discretion, is going to become the norm. Its the way it was done in the past, now they have better data to base decisions. |
Re: The mines are now closed (AHFS)
You guys definitely lack reading skills…OPENS dont count, T and T doesn’t count, Jegs all star race doesn’t count, 1/8 mile doesn’t count ….It will be INTERESTING to see if INDY counts…..It appears that Mr. Worner COULD be the LAST racer to see an immediate HP penalty ….

Re: The mines are now closed (AHFS)
I have not read the complete posting by NHRA in this regard.
"ALL RUNS COUNT" statement, my question is, does that include runs slower than the . 350 ? Steve Teeter Stk/SS 620 |
Re: The mines are now closed (AHFS)
Does this mean that runs of -1.20 won't be torn down anymore?
|
Re: The mines are now closed (AHFS)
So those who got hp under old rules but would not have gotten hp under the new rules get kinda screwed.
|
Re: The mines are now closed (AHFS)
Sounds like they are going to look at every run. Maybe also different increments, not just 1/4 ET and MPH. Changing it up for the upcoming season interesting move by NHRA

Makes you wonder. Punish the index all year with a car that might not ever get looked at? |
Re: The mines are now closed (AHFS)
So if there is no instant horsepower for 120 under hit
Doesn’t it give the racer’s the chance to lower the average? Doesn’t make sense |
Re: The mines are now closed (AHFS)
I wonder if they will bring back lowering HP on certain combos that are not competitive. The way it is now you can’t request HP reduction if it has ever received a hit in the past.

Re: The mines are now closed (AHFS)
About time. Bryan Worner would be loving this right now. But to listen to everyone whine about it being a performance based class then to whine when they allow you to run what you want without immediate penalties is crazy. YOU control what YOUR average is no matter what you run. I am sure there are some 350 tpi camaros that wish this was in place when an accidental 1.24 under completely killed the combo that is now a .8-.9 at best combo. As far as the illegal cars running the avg up.....all it takes is money and balls. Put up the protest money and have them torn down and deemed legal. Swallowing your pride does not cause indigestion. Quit whining about it and do something.
