Maybe if we hadn't taken so long to pair-up at all those events....

I doubt it. There's no one in Stock or Super Stock that they'd hesitate to DQ. If that was a truly big deal, a much bigger deal would already have been made of it.

This is a matter of time and space for everything that they've added to National events. Everyone keeps saying they want this class or that class added, and so many think that everyone should get to race at National events.

How many classes have been added recently? Top Dragster, Top Sportsman, Pro Modified, all the "all stars", "special events", "bonus races", and "celebrity races". That all takes time and space. Well, guess what? The classes that take the most time and require the most tech and other hassles are Stock and Super Stock. Guess who is going to get cut.

As much as I hate to see people not have a place to race, NHRA National events, or even for that matter LODRS races, simply cannot make time and space for everyone. No sanctioning body or race can be everything to everyone. To even attempt it is to flirt with disaster.

And that's one thing for people to remember, especially sanctioning bodies, track owners, and promoters. No one can be everything to everyone. And the more you stray from your core participants and fans, the sooner they go elsewhere, or simply quit, and many never return. Then when the new wears off of the part of the "show" you pushed the core aside for, they all leave. Your "show" is never as big again, and you never make the money you once did. Drag racing won't be the first motorsport it happens to, and it won't be the last.

After reading some comments, GVille had 128 entries, now there is 50. Let's see, there is now Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Pro Mod. The categories increased taking away spots from lower categories. Simple, they are faster. As far as parking, at GVille they use the back areas, plenty of room.
Quotas start at 8 and work on down, having 4 or 5 probably isn't going to get you in, it fills fast, with out of state people. You would be surprised how many entries have a pick up and trailer.
JR, like the idea, and NHRA will probably adopt it. It relieves the Sportsman congestion without loosing the filler. Actually the Baby Gators is a prelude to it.
Of course people complain about what NHRA does, and yet still return, everybody does, and some complain about the ones who complain, but are still here.
Oh yeah, the electric cars are coming, must be 2022 or newer, battery size limited to ???

Oh- you want 50-60 more entries for stock and SS, I’ve never been to Gainesville , is there room to fit 100-120 more 80ft rigs??? If everyone went back to truck and open trailers maybe we could fit more cars lmao.

Gainesville has plenty of room to fit at least 80 more rigs out at the go cart track. I prefer to park out there. The grass is nice and that area doesn’t flood if the rain comes in heavy. Now that NHRA doesn’t park you people take way more pit space than is needed. I like to work off the back of my trailer anyway. This year with less cars they probably won’t park anyone at the go cart track. Last year there was about 30-40 rigs back there

There's a sure-fire way to lose spectators after a couple of races for curiosity.
If you dial-in, can you race your golf cart?

Bubski would let to set the record straight !! If Bubski was running the tear down barn at Gainesville Stock would look like a Comp Eliminator field at a D 6 race !! Please show some courtesy and taste before you drag Bubski into this mess of self serving hypocrites !! Cheers !!

The back area at Gainesville is nice and quiet but the total round trip for a run is 2 to 2.6 miles depending on where in the back you are pitted. The finger road that leads to the back sucks with the dust because its not paved.

There is a better chance of Casper the ghost showing up. Bubski would faint if anyone really disclosed who she-he is.

Weather looking good for their January 7th test and tune so think I’ll head that way and see if the road is paved now (will report back). Part of that Atlanta sale influx of cash to improve Indy and Gainesville facilities you know..;)
