Re: Ihra national events are back!!

Here is the full schedule, classes and purses.

All national events will be doubles. Wednesday-Thursday pro-am, Fri-Sun Nitro Jam National Event. Many of the folks that have lodged concerns about a Wednesday race already are willing to go to a sportsnational race or national event that start Wednesdays and Thursdays so honestly I'm not sure what they are worried about. If you can't swing the pro-am ahead of the national event, you can just go to the national event which is likely what I'll do myself. We already do that with NHRA, so if you only want to run the National, you can still do that just like we currently do. If you want an extra race while you are already there, go two days sooner.

Personally, I think this is a fantastic way to set these races up, 5 weeks/weekends, 5 national events, 10 total races.

Purses are excellent, contingency has not been listed, but you'd already be winning more at these races with the base purses anyway without having 30 decals plastered all over your factory hot rod. Total purse for Stock and SS is $11,400 EACH with a $300 entry fee. Same for all .90 classes as well. TS and TD pay over $21000 total purse each as well.

It makes no mention of car minimums or counts, so I should think not.

I haven't heard of any class elims being scheduled, but that's asking a lot from a fledgling organization. If not this year, I'd expect them next year.

Has there been anything on rules for Stock? I would think they would just go with what they last used but I?m unable to find those. I started this after they left the market so I?m clueless to what differences there were between IHRA and NHRA. I would be real easy to continue with what they last used for ratings. Just keep track of the data to make hp corrections at the end of the year based on combo average. No reason to worry about triggers and punishment for running our cars. Just average the numbers and correct HP off that info for Parity.

I've not heard anything on that either, but I'll keep my ear to the ground. I would assume anything that's currently legal in NHRA would be legal in IHRA including the old crate motor classes which are currently allowed to run at NHRA national opens. I believe my friend Roy Caraway had his C/CM at the opens at Carolina last weekend.

From what I understand same rules and classes as NHRA, I don't know anything about the classes IHRA had that were different are being brought back? pure stock,GT and Crate motor stockers?
or Super Stock production?
I had a pure stocker, still have those parts, but car itself would no longer fit within pure stock rules.
I will never have a combo specific to one sanctioning body again

Be my guest. We'll see how this pans out as far as sustainability goes. Haven't seen contingency or rules either. Lots of unknowns here.

If nobody does it for the money why would they go or who cares about posting $5000 to win? Just would like it to be beneficial for working folks! I hope for it's success but it sure isn't a favorable schedule. Trust me they could use more racers money to keep it going!
