Re: Live from Reynolds,GA-NHRA LucasOil Series

Superstock round 1 finished with several great races-- Artie Leong (13.19) against Billy Leber(9.21)--with Billy having the better light but having to run dead on to get around Artie who ran out by.06 . Another great run was with Bobby Warren heads-up(with his stocker 98 TransAm) against the polesitter Roger Green with his 79 (where's Bob Frey?) Aspen -- who would have believed Bobby would win ? But yet...........

Jack, great meeting you this weekend. That GTO is gorgeous. You need to come south more often. Also, great commentary. I was at the race and still got excited reading your play-by-play.

Kind of being a little hard on Grubbs. Considering how many heads up races they have won this year in eliminations. JMO. Trevor Weiss

Trevor -- I wasn't trying to be hard on Brenda -- those words I used were the exact ones that came out of her husband Bills' mouth before that round .On top of that I witnessed her getting blipped on the top end.

John-- I know it sounds very strange but thats what happened and the NHRA wouldn't allow him to compete in that round I'm told .

Owen -- Thanks for the kind words and hopefully I'll get to more Southern races .

Mike -- The NHRA tries to give awards to all sportsman classes -- thanks

Sorry I didn't get back to you guys sooner but I've been in airports all day and I still feel terrible from the cold I caught Thursday in the rain .........its always good to be home .

Almost forgot-- Got to meet Ed Swearingen last night -- he's the owner and operator of Reynolds Raceway -- everything they say about him is true -- really a nice guy and a great racer --we need more like him ......well done this weekend Ed ........

Some of my friends were on me about complaining -- you decide about the hanger and plane I took at the Macon International Airport -- also known as Middle Geogia Airport .Maybe its because I'm old but I was scared.......how 'bout you ? Did I mention that the Atlanta Airport was closed this morning for an hour because of high winds ........but I got on this plane .........click on to enlarge.

Jack, we never got to meet, the closest we came was yesterday morning when we were warming up, I passed you down at the end of the track, I was driving the little white F/S 69 Camaro.

You sir are a brave man, I would have taken one look at that plane and said you want me to get on what? I'll drive to Atlanta.

Jim Wahl 10-28-2008 12:41 AM

Jack! You got on THAT plane? It looks like a pregnant Piper Cub! Jim

Other Notables -- Grubbs put Somerton out -Vierheller dumped Gracie (ain't she a cutie)Howell -- Heads-ups-- Johnson over Radley (E/SA) -- Torren over Harris(D/SA)and then there's me who had a light so bad the starter was walking toward me when I left-- ouch ! ! ! ! And to add insult to injury my second round race would have heads-up and seven (7) tenths slower--thats right(.70) -- luck is everything . Later.........got plenty of time now .

Wow, Jack you were that late first round! I guess praying does work. Kevin (the red firebird you would have had second round)

Jack,
I like the car okay, but I have to say it is not mine. The car belongs to Kevin Cradduck. I just get to drop the clutch and row the 4 speed every so often. I'm a VERY lucky guy.
