Re: Live from Englishtown -- NHRA SuperNationals

maybe its just me, but what would it of hurt to make the pro's lose one qualifying run today and they would still have 3 for the weekend so sportsman could of had 2 runs, wow if i remember right, sportsman pay $330 per entry and pro's pay............, just don't understand it at times.

Well here it is -- Sal Biondo in Bill Hawks' black beauty Shelby Mustang is our #1 man hands down -- no one on the property was near his 1.31 under in this soup .And he got the B/SA Wally to boot .Other class winners -- Evan Smith , Ken Kopecky at 10.90 , Bob Bender , Eric Bollman in AA/SA 10 Flat ,Shaul at 10.19, more when the sheets come out .......S/s up in awhile...........

Re: Live from Englishtown -- NHRA SuperNationals

It seems to me, lately, that the posted qualifying times on DRC, are coming later and later than they use to. I understand that confusion in the tower, as pertaining to proper car registration, and/or computer glitches, can contribute to this...but why so much lately?? I don't want to see TAFC and Comp qualifying notes when Stock and Super Stock ran hours ago!! WTF???? Post the damn results, or at least give us an explanation as to why they are not posted.

Sorry, just needed to vent a little. No hard feelings toward anyone in general, just think efficiency and promptness have taken a dip lately. I don't know if these reporters get paid to do this, but if they do, they're slacking.

Some of you boys seem to be a little testy this afternoon with DRC's service -- its not their fault -- the Internet service this today is spotty at best .Here's a few photos to look at and cool off .

BTW -- #1 - Biondo -1.311
#2 - Farrell i/sa -- -1.18
#3 -- Smith h/s -- -1.13
#4 -- Kreeber -- f/sa -- -1.12
#5 -- Cokinos -- p/s -- -1.12
#6 --Bardecoff --b/sa -- -1.117
#7 --Shaul --a/sa-1.109
#8 -- Kopecky -- e/sa -- -1.09
#9 -- Monahan -- j/sa -- -1.08
#10-- Conte -- c/sa -- -1.07 Not only did Sal Biondo be #1 and get a first round bye -- he was two (2) tenths faster than the next B/SA

Jack,

Great reports as usual, keep it up even though your diet might be a little lite this weekend without Uncle Buck and George D. and the S/G racers to keep the energy level up with all the great food! By the way, are you coming to Cecil for the MASGA race and the pig roast in July? Good luck this weekend and be safe!

Re: Live from Englishtown -- NHRA SuperNationals

Good morning and welcome to day 3 (its really day 2 because of the rain) -- just like they have been calling it all week here it is -- partly cloudy with the Sun peeking thru in spots - warm temps already (low 70's) and the outlook for today is terrific .

Those who were in attendance last evening got to witness some great racing in the Sportsman ranks and even before that the Pro's put on a heck of a Friday nite show .Myself -- after my round I came back to sit in the stands around the 900' mark and it was super , just super -- the driving lessons some drivers gave to others was worth the price of admission alone .

This morning I'm told we'll start off with S/Street and move on to SuperStock -- when I get an updated schedule you'll be filled in..................

1964 Mercury 289 NHRA rated GT horsepower 233

John DiBartolomeo 06-13-2009 07:39 AM

Re: Live from Englishtown -- NHRA SuperNationals

As updated a schedule as there was last night, it's Super Street, Super Stock, alcohol, then on to the pros. Comp runs between the pro sessions and following the second pro set is Stupid... sorry, Super Comp (I can say that if I want), then alcohol first round, Comp, Super Stock, Super Street, Stock, another Super Comp, SS , Super Street and Stock. But then they told Super Comp we would run our fiurst time trial second to last last night and then they surprised us by sticking the TT between the pro sessions, so as the saying goes: Schedule subject to change.

Negative.
1964 Mercury 289 NHRA rated GT horsepower 220.

Tony Janes 06-13-2009 08:33 AM

Re: Live from Englishtown -- NHRA SuperNationals

That is correct 220 Hp with automatic 223 for stick and 10 more for the after market heads.

The actual wording is replacement heads. 10 more horsepower.

He lost to Joe Martens .044 over to .019 over. Vic was not one of the sixteen red lights in the first round.

Ahh, OK, Vic was listed as "NT" in the qual list, so I thought he wasn't in the field. Thanks.
