Re: Jeggie
For what it's worth: Jeg races here in Indy all the time in bracket races in a dragster. And he's deadly. And I've seen him here practicing during Thursday night test and tunes getting ready for bracket races.
So whatever else you may think, I wouldn't accuse Jeg of being "too good to get his hands dirty." He seems very involved when I've seen him. |
Re: Jeggie
I don't see how having folks like Jeggie and Big Daddy in Stock Eliminator can be anything but a good thing.

Re: Jeggie
What would be cool is if Jeg would run it to the mat rather than try to protect the combo, but if he wants to fit in he'd better not do it the way it should be done.

Re: Jeggie
Hammer /Ed,
Maybe they should have given Jeggie the first car... Also, Mopar has gone under and Ford didn't, so something did happen ? If you remember Big Daddy's car didn't run well , everyone was worried about his driving..He cut a .008 lite in class, but was outrun by the other car and didn't make the program at Indy..... Why didn't he have one of the fastest cars ? Mopar, made a bad move there... Jeggie, will be a big Plus to the Mopars & Stock class in 2010............. |
Re: Jeggie
What I get from Hammer's first post is that some racers that have the resorces, name recognition, and right connections get these types of cars just for the novelty of them. I'm not knocking Garlits at all because it was nice to see a legend like him running stock at Indy, but I wonder if that car will ever surface at a race track again. Could it be that the car has made it's last appearance at a track and now has a permenant home on the floor of the museum?
Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. :D RIP Mark Graham |
Re: Jeggie
John
Look at jeggies record he has more sportsmen wins then 99% of the people in the sportsmen racing (13) he is a former world champ in S/G most of his wins are in SUPER/STOCK. Many Div wins and Div championships. Supports NHRA drag race as a sponsor the All star race when TRW stopped sponsoring it. Any body with grade points and money to enter can in. I believe his world champion will get him in with out grade points the more the merry. He should come and try and get you in the first round happy hunting Jeggie. |

Re: Jeggie
Jegs will have his hands full in stock this year. The best bottom bulb racer in the class is Dan Fletcher and he will be Jeggie worst nightmare!:)
|
Re: Jeggie
SuperStock fan,
Unless Dan changes to a new type car his old Chevy will not have a chance. Dan has a great car, but it will be no match for the DP Challenger or the Mustang in a heads up race. |
Re: Jeggie
EDIT: I think I got it....you meant in Div 2, not not competing.....forget it its those wierd polycarbonate fumes :)
Why would you say that Art ? Have you heard something ? Last I heard from other DP guys was he was changing things up.....he had....Im just going to say issues with some items that were slowing him down. But Im very curious if you heard something recent like in the last 2 weeks. I cant see him doing things to his car like Ive heard in and about with other vendors if hes not going to run again, even once, I cant see him "going out" like that.......hmmmmm....That would suck Quote:

Re: Jeggie

From Ohio????????????????After all,he has the qualifications that were stated on another post. |
Re: Jeggie
Hmmm....thought you were on "Vacation" and I was trying to be nice in the "Sad Day" last post....and sincere.....ok, hang that teabag from your mirror............Im still inviting you to dinner when We run under faster than John Irving at Pomona....or we dont in which case I am buying him dinner........
Our driver for Pomona is all set, and I think hes enjoying this as much as we are (the class racer stuff).....his idea to "throw you a curve" at Pomona....not mine...His words "That ought to give them a real suprise theyll never see it coming" My call in the end but I said, yeah thats too good lets run with it...., since hes ex world champ we dont have to pull the trigger and register till the last minute, no matter if its full up or not......hes guarenteed a slot, that from Mary at the Competiton office :) (And he already knew that but I wanted to confirm in case things had changed)................ Up for a bet that at Pomona we will have a NHRA World Champion Driver ? Im loving this in case you cant tell...... And no, we tried to get Jeg, but he already bought a DP Challenger too so it was a hard sell, even though I offered him free hotdogs and soda for the weekend, the only thing well have money for by then.....(no Im not serious about the Jeg thing...the other maybe :) Quote:

|
Re: Jeggie
I heard through the DP Grapevine...dont remeber who, he will be at Pomona with the car running in A, if He is running in A trim, we might just give that a go....although Irv Johns is the fastest and thats a tasty bit of bait in itself....
