SuperStreet And Stock had their last Q-shot this morning - headwind and most were anywhere from 3 to 7 slower than yesterday morning . Weather is not too terrific -overcast and rain on its way according to the local weathermen - 64 degrees 39 %humidity and the barometer at 28.60 with a DA at 2343 .

We're on hold at the moment -- wind has dust on the track and is picking up steam as I type (see pic ) .

For those of you wondering about teardown yesterday I spoke with Brad Burton (Pomona winner) this morning and they made it thru just fine .

Re: Live from Phoenix - NHRA Arizona Nationals

10:30-- Forget the dust -- the rains have arrived and the proverbial cats and dogs are coming down -- we'll be on hold a long time ..............

Jack,

We had that same rain storm here in Orange County (by Disneyland)
last night and it only lasted less than one hour. Hope you guys get
as lucky.

I checked with the FastNews guys at Phoenix, and we now have the official word from NHRA.

The new standard is that you need to run at least your index to take a class win on a single.

We just flat out missed the change and apologize for the confusion. The reports will be corrected.

Well, it rained pretty good early this morning. NHRA has been working on the track since about 5 or 6 this morning. It's sprinkling lightly right now, but they still have the track dryer going. Probably will be a while before any cars go down the track. My guess is they will start with the pro's whenever the track is ready.

Jack (&Toby) great reporting, keeps us guys who are cold and staying indoors interested. Did you adjust your clock to west coast time or staying on east coast time? Would be interesting to see if you stayed awake until 9pm west coast time and got up at 4am? I guess the winter is getting to me. Good luck and keep on with the great reports.

Joey Wilkes is driving Irv's Challenger this weekend. He qualified on the pole at 1.065 under the A/SA index.

Jeg's car was fixed at Phil Mandella's shop after Pomona. Phil told me I could make a post on here saying it was fixed. Not surprised Phil got it done that fast. He does great work. He told me he would like to build one of the new Challengers and he would do it up right, doing all the little things for free.

There's still a few dark clouds over here in Glendale, with the sun coming out.
The radar here looks good ,all the way back to Ca, so you guys should be okay before long. (11:15 MST)

I just clicked on the NHRA audiocast and it say's the event is over. What's up with that?

It's on now, but it's just playing music.

Cool....

It seemed a bust to have to do it back in Ohioland...I couldnt see that happening. I was wondering how it would get fixed on the road as it were....

" doing all the little things for free."

Hmmmm....like stipping the sound deadner and urethane body sealer ? :D Hey Mack or Larry whats that worth you think ? :D Gotta be 2 days labor lol...

Cheers

Chris

If someone is out there at the national, and gets a chance they should track down Bruce B. of N.H.R.A. TECH. I spoke with him earlier this month over this, and was told that you no longer needed to run .5 under your index to win class. Danny Gracia should be there as well, so either of them could be asked about this, but as I recalled if you ran your index or quicker, that was enough to be a class winner, and that was from Bruce himself.

Added note to talking with him...notice that in the records section that the minimum e.t. required for those unset class records are only 2 tenths quicker than our new indexes! I was also told that they're going to be under review this year as well....
