Re: Roy Hill Entry
I know a few people have stated in the Roy Hill and Kurt Busch instances, that neither event featured a full field, so no one got bumped and shouldn't be that big of a deal. I understand that...the more cars, the better, and even possibly some extra exposure, as in the Kurt Busch case.. I think the resentment comes from the fact that a "name" person can get entry without A grade point (let alone the required number) and regular people can not. I haven't raced Stock since November of 2006. If I had tried to enter Atlanta on Monday, do you think I, without any grade points since the '06 Dutch Classic, would have been allowed in? I bet good money that I would not have been. I think Dan Fletcher wrote on here a few weeks ago that he tried to enter Virginia one year, being a former World Champ, AND defending event Champ, and was denied entry. I think THAT is the issue, the double standard shown towards other celebrities and not towards our own racers.

Hey Chip! How much money did you save with your Gold Card the year after you won the Bracket Finals? How much did you *spend* that year on crew passes for your family, souvenirs, and how much did you spend with manufacturers and other businesses? How much have you spent since? Just think how much money you'd have if you were still just bracket racing the Cheerwine Nova! Quote:

Buff Daddy,
You finally posted something I agree with. Chip |
Re: Roy Hill Entry
Beard,
I wish I had never seen that gold card I got from winning the bracket finals. LOL Chip |
Re: Roy Hill Entry
As a S/S competitor at the race in question, I have no problem with Roy getting an entry! In fact, I would love nothing more than to see him in the other lane, come first round!!!

Re: Roy Hill Entry
No body has mentioned it yet. Roy Hill is #1 qualifier at 1.00 under.

Re: Roy Hill Entry
Does anybody know what the ssb/a record is? I looked on NHRA but thge sheet was blank.

Re: Roy Hill Entry
It says on Drag Race Central that he was #1 qualifier 1.001 under his index of 9.90. He won first round with 8.97 and was .923 under.
I saw this car run Wednesday night at Z-Max and he went 8.79. |
Re: Roy Hill Entry
SS/BA record is 8.84 ET @ 150.40 MPH

Re: Roy Hill Entry
Correct, Record 8.84, index 9.90

Re: Roy Hill Entry
This is a little off topic again, but from the stands the first 60' looks a little slow compaired to the last 1/8 mile. If the car covered the first 60' like it does the last 60' he might need some onboard oxygen lol. Don Jackson

Re: Roy Hill Entry
He was running the car the first thursday in May at Piedmont in the 5.80 index class. I didn't see how fast he went as I was running it as well and never saw it go down the track. So he's been getting some laps in.
