Wow ,that sure worked out to not have any heads up in the 2nd round. Lots of possibilities that did not happen. Back to the" COMBO" race for now.

Re: Live from Maple Grove-NHRA Lucas Oil Series

I think that there were 7 possibilities for heads-ups for Stock Rd. two. The only one that came out was the D/SA battle of Wendy Caliendo and Matt Welker. The possible 3rd, rd. H/U battle of M/SA's didn't pan out either. There's still a possible 3rd. rd. F/SA battle along with a G/SA that could prove to be interesting.

Line'm up!

Stuck around tonight to see some great racing and the annual fireworks display put on by Maple Grove -- a very nice show with plenty of ou's and ah's - this was a treat for the many families who attended today's program .And I 'gotta tell you -- I have new respect for photogs -- taking fireworks shots is no easy deal ...........

Good morning -- Because of a brief shower both the NHRA team and Maple Grove guys had to spend some extra time drying the track this AM and had all available equipment in use -its good now and we'll start off soon with S/Street then S/Gas followed by Stock .After a hard scraping this morning the track will have teeth for sure -- its killer .

Big quote of the weekend by Roy Hill -- he said that Rick Hendricks shop is only a mile from his and swears that the "new" Camaros are coming .........we'll see .

BTW -- Today is the race day everyone has been waiting for -- sunny - blue skies -- temps in the low seventies ..........if you're not here you missed something very nice indeed .

Roy dosen't know if he rear end is punched or bored on this subject. I Checked with some very high up people at GM last week their story is the plant has no interest on this subject with them getting the new Camaro Convert out of the plant and now with the new Buicks coming on line. You guys keep forgeting that GM needs volume cars to make $$$$ not a 50 car build. You also forget that they gave up on Drag Racing the they filed for Bankrupacy last summer. Haven't you seen the NHRA Fords that they drive.

Roy Hill may not have been totally accurate with his info but I really liked hearing what he had to say. He is a very entertaing man to listen to and was great being interviewed by Louis Bloom. He was having fun racing the Mustang in SS and said he was treated very well by the racers.

Weather was not great for 2 days but the racing and the track were......

A very good turnout and lots of spectators last night. $25 a carload......One vehicle supposedly had 18 people in it........

I agree he is very entertaining man to listen to. He told my dad and I some storys in the staging lanes in Commerce,Ga and even let me get behind the wheel of the SuperStocker. If that car had a 3rd pedal, he would have been running after me..lol.

emotions get the best of me 1st rd about something beyond my control and the lack of dealing with it correctly. The track was smooth as glass.

Good job Jack, I just wanted to let everyone no what a great job Division 1 did along with Maple Grove.

With over 600 cars and being short handed, all I can say is, WELL DONE !!!!

This was a great weekend for me. Made some rounds with the new car. Didn't have to take the trans out for the 150th time! Finally got a handle on the 4 foot wheel stands. Too scary for me to drive. E. Bednez and Steve Ficacci, thanks for the tips.

Shady Maple, Hooters, bunked with Timmy Bishop and Wayne Totaro at the Econo Lodge. Doesn't get any better than this............Joe Martens, you missed out! Charlie Braxton was asking for you too.

Also, thanks Timmy and Wayne for pit crewing for me.........it was a big help!

Re: Live from Maple Grove-NHRA Lucas Oil Series

Maple Grove final thoughts -- I wanted to do this last evening but by the time I drug my sorry butte home there was no way - I even fell asleep and missed the ending of the NASCAR race at Charlotte .Anyway , the Stock/SS community took a real hit this weekend as we had more down time from oil on the track than all other classes combined -- not a good thing for sure -- try this -- we had five times more downtime than Alcohol -- believe me the Diapers are coming after this -- my idea is to allow us to install belly pans instead of diapers-that is a possibility I'm told.Yesterday I was "allowed" to see the actual facts and figures in downtime minutes and believe me "they" have a real argument .Let me know your thoughts as this is not going to go away quietly .

Good things -- Yesterday as some of you heard I got to "call" the second round with ESPN's Stat Man and Announcer Louis Bloom -- as much as he does the Pro thing his Sportsman knowledge is unbelieveable - we as stock/ss guys only have to know things about us -- he on the other hand is great on all the Sportsman stuff - my brain would be on overload - next time you see 'em let him know how you feel..........And Louis - thanks for the invite as I had a wonderful time sharing the mike ! !

Sean Gaffney --Not sure if I can join you folks at Napierville this year but that ten G's looks inviting .
Larry -- Quit working and get that new bullet done so we can get some midwest reports - or should we just send Patsy alone ?
Rich B - Not sure how accurate Roy Hill is but it does give racers some hope .
Doug - God willing I'll be at the Valley over Fourth of July .
Mack -- Keep sending in those photos of your loud machine -- somewhere down the road we'll meet up .
Eddie F --Thanks for clearing up the hat deal -- now about that flashing ?
Jerry -- Thanks for the book and the tips .......

And finally Tommy - With me being as busy as I was this past weekend nobody is going to believe that picture you made with Photoshop of me actually working on our car ....................

Englishtown a mear two weeks away .................

Rich Biebel 05-31-2010 08:40 AM

Re: Live from Maple Grove-NHRA Lucas Oil Series

Jack said it and I would agree......Diapers are definately coming in Stock and SS.

One oil down must have taken at least an hour to clean up and it was a Stocker or SS'er from what I heard. We usually blame the alcohol cars and others for downtime.....not this weekend......

Stats don't lie............
Downtime hurts everyone......Put 'em on

P.S. belly pans are not going to stop fluids from getting out on the track completely......

Rich -- This really did happen -- these spectators showed up in airport shuttle bus -- Lex & co. were OK with it as these people buy Cokes / Hot Hogs / T-Shirts etc ..........................And maybe they'll come back for the Nationals in October .
