Re: NHRA: are you really that blind or just stupid?
How many of you guys complaining have sent your letters to NHRA asking for a horsepower reduction? The system works 2 ways and most engine combos out there have been refactored at one time or another. I heard that if you havn't run at a national event, you are wasting your time sending a letter, but the guys that have will probably have a class average low enough to get a reduction. With the combination of you taking weight out and the other cars getting horsepower, it might tighten up the races a little. OH, and by the way, I think I would not start or include the phrase "NHRA are you blind or Stupid?" in your letter. And If you say that you shouldn't have to send a letter in to get things even, the system doesn't work that way, so start putting your letters together.

Re: NHRA: are you really that blind or just stupid?
Im willing to bet that no one does anything except complain. It just in their nature even though they could stay home for the rest of the year and/or run IHRA for awhile as they keep the FI cars seperate from the older stuff but we both know that wont happen....lol. NHRA has everyone by the "Nuts" !

Re: NHRA: are you really that blind or just stupid?
They may have at one time but that is no longer true. You know the old saying: You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can not fool all of the people all of the time. How much do you want to bet?

Re: NHRA: are you really that blind or just stupid?
My car is always 200 or so heavy. But then we know what the problem is. A change of driver could fix that.

deduct one 16V battery.....30lbs 1 quart of oil 7 lbs for lightweight radials versus standard radials 3-4 gallons of gas(or more if he has a 10 gallon cell) a little bit of ballast 20 lbs add dehydraded and hungry driver(up to 10 pounds) Easy to get 60 plus pounds out for kill mode. |
Re: NHRA: are you really that blind or just stupid?
I was a little over the 140, too much beer and other bad diet items. I was 160 over, and that is with the 'new math' stuff. I just added it up. If I install my son Frank, it goes down 110-120 lbs, and the reactions get better.

Re: NHRA: are you really that blind or just stupid?
It looks to me that 5.7 DP in E/SA is almost as fast as a 6.1 DP in A/SA and the 5.7 DP gives up 24.5 cubic inches........
Come on guys...it's not the money, it's not what class, it's not who is smart and who is dumb. Can everybody say "It's the NHRA horsepower rating" Good job.... Bob |
