Did not receive our dragster yet. Saw california covers mentioned in the posts which is jimmie defrank. Why dont we see him or any other winners on here, it is just all the people that lose to those guys. I know i saw that name Womak at indy and jimmie out ran him by at least a tenth or two in the same class! You should probably not say anything until you can run better; still a fan of the east but come on guys.

I don't understand why this is all of a sudden an issue. Jeff Taylor and others have done this for years so we can't blame the west coast rule book.

That being said I've seen pictures of Jimmy's car with the other hood with the right scoop on it. Maybe they feel that this scoop allows the air to turn better going into the carb if it's taller? There isn't a rule about how tall it can be over the carb just the rule about 5" at the opening.

... just sayin.. i took my a## whoopin like a man in the final round of class in Indy...... not saying the scoop is the reason he runs so fast but it makes me wonder when theres pics on autoimagery of this car with the correct scoop on it....

Bobby, you are quite correct on a few of your points, there are different rules for different people in the NHRA. As well these "socalled" Super Stockers/Wannabe Comp Cars are Bulls#@*, either there too lazy or don't have the budget to run comp, yet have just enough lack of integrety or self respect to actually build a true Super Stocker without twisting and streching the rulebook to the point of questioning the intent or foundation in which it was written with. Hood Scoop or no hood scoop, if NHRA doesn't want to actively enforce the rules, do to the chance that these cars/drivers will leave the sport, which we know won't happen because your right, this sport is more addictive than drugs, then split the cars. They did it with Modified Production, now you split SS and rear wheel drive GT, put front wheel conversion GT cars and modified in another class. Also I believe that automatic and stick should be put together and use a weight break within the class to even it out ( BTW to make it a little more even, no air or electric shift on automatics). Love the SS stick cars, c u @ the Toyo's.

Make them all run factory hood scoops or none at all. If the carbs wont fit then use shorter intake manifolds ! Those hood scoops look like S##T anyway.

Hey thanks alot for the kind words. The class would be wayy better if you're ideas were implemented! Could you imagine? Well if you see me at the Toyos be sure to say hello.

P.S. only 3 SS stick cars registered for the Toyos.. go figure. :o
