A picture that I misplaced... Our group went to (the night our daughter and her husband were here and we didn't get to go)Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. This is Carolyn and Bobby Howald, Marilyn and Allen Wade, and Mark and Elaine Nowicki..(Look at Mark in the new hat!!!!) Now is this group having a good time or what????...I think they all drank cokes there to throw off anyone watching... What a great picture...Oh, it's almost 5:00 pm Sat. and we think they may call us in an hour or so for our first run of the day and then later one round of eliminations!!! Go Super Stock

Wow, folks, this weather is ever changing.. Last night we were to run first round of eliminations and the wind became rather intense, then we saw a few drops of rain.. So "the games" ended for the evening.. You can see Carolyn cooking our supper last night and then a few pictures of our first round this morning...We are still in, along with Lincoln Morehead and Dave Thomas right here in our immediate camp.. We lost Bobby Warren, Allen Wade, and Mark Nowicki in the first round...This sport is so brutal.....So, as all of you know the drill....we are just waiting around for second round. All of you have been such great cheerleaders... thanks so much.... Alice Tysinger

Hi drag racing fans!!! It is a little after 5:00 pm here in Pomona, California and we have just landed in the "line" to get in..This was a travel day for us today..Our rv drivers had to contend with lots of winds today, but white knuckled we are here. You can see the empty Vegas area as we were leaving this morning.. Then, we entered California and we all had fun stoppping at Peggy Sue's noted diner for lunch right off of I-15. Ran into Keith Lynch and Jim Marshall getting an ice cream cone(see them also in our group photo). I just had to send you a picture of green grass as we were coming in....we haven't seen that green stuff in 13 days!!!! Then that pretty sky is right where we are parked for the evening....We are number 166 and proud of it....Stay tuned!!!!!

Well, we are in and parked.. God save the queen...There were lots of rumors that we might not all get in today , but yeah yeah, we are...Pictures today are as we toured around the track.. You can see the preps being made...Bobby, Carolyn and Joe and myself asked a grounds guy to make our picture in front of the tower..Then we we were off to...yes,you got it..In and Out Burger again for Joe's fix..But think he will make it for a few days now until he gets another one..I don't know if he can ever get enough of these burgers. Also, see my picture of the sun setting on Pomona...Wish you could all see it...Enjoy our pictures, as your picture taker (me...Alice) has to return home tomorrow.. Our daughter has been waiting for a surgical date to replace a torn ligament in her hip and she has been assigned Fri. Nov. 12...So, I will leave this task to all our friends and return to N. C. to assist her with her recovery and physical therapy....If I can get pictures e-mailed to me, I might can even continue my job.. We'll see..So keep us all in your prayers..And, I also wanted to mention that I had an e-mail from Leo Taugher today that his Dad passed away on this passed Fri. and he was 90 years old... His e-mail address is LTAUGHER@neo.rr.com Some of you might want to drop him a message.. What a nice guy... Signing off...Alice and her merry band of racers!!!

Alice

Thanks for all the pics that took us along for the ride. Hopefully your "Merry Band" will be larger in 2011.

Hope everything goes well with Wendy's surgery and recovery.

Okay, Super Stockers, I understand that one round of Qualifying has already happened, and they are probably making their second run right now.. These pictures that are attached are from the flight back to North Carolina. Made it back with no problems..Yeah... Not that you folks would be interested, but the views were just gorgeous.. Thanks for all the well wishes...Dave and Dede, thanks for the message and the call... I just haven't had time to even return calls today.. I spent one day at work, trying to make up for the three and half weeks we've being gone.. Be safe Super Stockers tomorrow.. Sorry I will not be there, but we will be thinking of you all day.. Alice (mrs. mama's mink)

Hi Super Stockers.....
Well, I hope that most of you are home, or almost home (particularly those traveling East from Pomona). Joe has been calling me from each of his overnight stays while traveling back to North Carolina...and tonight he is in Marion, NC...He is very tired and trying to enjoy the scenery along the way.. Wish I had some pictures to include, but I don't. Carolyn and Bobby Howald sent me some photos of our group in Pomona, but Tom Sheehan, I was not able to down size and post.. Lots of tales from Joe on the return trip....we all need to ask Allen and Marilyn Wade about their adventure in Texas with the DMV. Not sure if I got this all correct from Joe, but Texas has a definite length of rig you cannot go over without their "special permit". ( But, not like what we all get for Florida).Guess how many of us ARE in that category, depending on the terminology. ??? The Wades called Joe to warn him, as he was traveling behind them... Joe called me in a panic and I have the computer in front of me looking up Texas DMV rulings, Texas DMV on one phone and our insurance company on another phone... This was definitely a kodak moment... But, Joe made some smaller highways his travel route, and got the heck out of Texas as quickly as he could....BEWARE of Texas DMV laws......Thanks everyone for traveling with us/him....Our daughter is improving, but this week has been a journey in her recovery.. Have a great holiday season....Happy Thanksgiving and a very very Merry Christmas....God bless.....Alice and Joe Tysinger
