Which is why I hope Bob Marshall can win the Div 3 Super Stock Championship this year, as seeing another photo of his SS/BADD ride in National Dragster in two months will be great!!! :)

Gary if you don't get your hands on a '65 A990 Coronet could always team up with Jared Jorden and Harry Holton they have a '65 A990 Belvedere...

I always liked Mauer's A990, and now I agree, that was and I hope still is one very bad piece.

Here is a link to Maurer's current website.
I agree about Dennis' 65 it was a VERY good car. It was sold MANY years ago and who knows how many times it has sold since. I loved the unique paint scheme, it was like no other.

True, and I love them Belvedere's, and Savoys, and even the Fury's that look like them just the same...I haven't forgotten how cool Steve Bagwells Belvedere and Savoy looked. I kick myself for not saving either the night-time pic of either his Savoy or Belvedere in the finals of a Cajun Nationals race from (I believe) the '80's...he got the runner-up in the race, but the angle of the car was VERY COOL!!! Oh to be a richer man, I'd be after one of them in a heartbeat, since I prefer to race a car that not many people choose to so as to have something different. If I was a Ford guy, I'd be racing either a Maverick, or a Fairmont for the same reason(s).

Thanks for the great pics.... :)

You sure know how to torture a guy...seeing A990 Mopars side by side? It just doesn't get any better than that...that goes for the pics of Harry Holton's A990 along side that SS/AA Barracuda...Thanks Hemi Moose! :)

As for you Frank and Bill, I will always have a soft spot for Maurer's A990, since I (for several years), had the pleasure of watching it in action at Bandimere Speedway, and Dragway Denver back in the '70's & '80's...thanks also to you Bill for sharing that website of Dennis'. I'll be checking that out post this message...I hope you're doing good up there in Colorado too!!! :)

BIG TIME X2 Charlie!!! I had the pleasure of seeing their Barracuda in action last year at Salt Lake City, and was greatful for getting a calendar from Cal and Jon that included several great pics of that "BADD TO THE BONE" SS/BA Plymouth Savoy. I wish I was richer, because I love those cars too (Steve Hagberg also has a silver and equally sweet Savoy)! I may race a Cavalier, but if money was no object, I'd certainly be driving one of those, or the Coronet....the A990's are just a "BAD TO THE BONE" perfect for our sport race car!!!!

Alright, since Charlie had to torture me with Cal & Jon Percy's Savoy, who's going to torture me more with (let's say) "Steve Bagwells" Savoy's and Belvedere's??? Bring it on!!! :)

Was this taken at the Norwalk Chrysler Classic a few years ago? I remember those two racing the final there, about 2004? Got the run on video, but someone stepped in front of me. lol!

Dodge Material gets my vote for the best Coronet Super Stocker ! Unless you count Landy's A/FX'ers?

Nice shot of the Dodge Material cars...did you know that they built a handful of these '65 Dodge Coronets over the years, and not all of them started life as real A990 cars...

Re: Best All Time Dodge Coronet Super Stocker?

Thanks Hemi Moose for the Bagwell photos, and you plus MFR440 for the "Dodge Material" pics as well.

I just did some calculating, and I'm bummed for Bob, because Brad Zaskowski attended the final LODRS race in D2, and he runner-up'd there. He had two rnd 3 losses to improve on (51pts), and by earning 84 points at this race, he earned 33 extra points to overtake Bob by just one lousy point (he now has 363pts, to Bob's 362)! :( I'm bummed since I now won't get to see Bob's A990 in the dragster as this years D3 Super Stock Champion, and to be sooo close too!!! :( GREAT EFFORT THOUGH BOB!!! :)

I'm also bummed for Craig Marshall and his Dodge Material car, because he was at the race (but only in Stock...I wish he would've been in Super Stock to try and keep Brad out of the final?), and he only needed to win rnd three to advance from 3rd to 2nd in the D3 Stock standings...I doubt he will be heading west to 'Vegas for their divisional, but he'd have one more shot at it, and possibly catching/passing both Andrew Hill, and Jeff Taylor (nothing against either of those guys, I just am rooting for these mopar guys)!!! :)

What about Dave Boertmans 1964 SS/DA 426 Max-Wedge Coronet-2dr. 330 - Aluminum Front end, anybody have pics of this one? its the OLD IRON BUTTERFLY, it was sold to Rick Johnson 20 years ago, in Minn. When Dave had it it was lettered "ROD SHOP". Awesome car. Some please post some pics.

Moose,
Several people drove Bagwell's cars on and off. After Earwood went road racing in 78 the main driver besides Bagwell was Richard Griffin. I remember David Simmons driving at least once at Indy and Jeff Taylor teamed with Bagwell on a Pro Stock Camaro.

Frito, yes I've also seen a few other drivers names on the windows of the cars when I was looking up some other additional info on them but thanks anyways...but here's a shot of Steve Bagwells '65 A990 Plymouth.
