Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
1320go.com on my iPhone phone says the Las Vegas track is not connected.

Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
It very interesting that last weekends Points race had both the
Vegas tower camera and www.1320go.com and this weekends National meet only has the NHRA vocal website no camera. So who is so gready that they did not allow the tower camera to be used? NHRA? ESPN-2? |

Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
toby
what name did you put bernie in car video |
Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
Vic,
It's named: Bernie Cunningham - 1st Round vs. Mark Faul Just click on the 2011 Summit Nats playlist on the right of the screen and you should see all the videos from the race. Here's a direct link if you can't find it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Sa1-irvJT8 -Toby |
Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
I have a very large flat screen tv and I put the video up on it to see what the light on the wheel was. It looks like to me when the car goes up on the chip it moves ever so slightly and there is a light reflecting off of the polished part of the wheel.

Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
4 blinks in perfect rythem

Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
Round 2 of Super Stock is up along with Bernie's second round in-car against Jim Meador. Sorry if the video is a little shaky, I just got done winning a pretty big round.
-Toby |
Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
maybe defranks car is moving back and forth ever so slightly against the two step and it is a reflection on the wheel the perfect storm so to speak.

Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
Is it possible a leak at header ?

Exactly what I was trying to describe. When you look at it on my laptop its hard to tell but when its on a 65 inch TV you can see it real good LOL. |
Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
Watch Don Kennedy's run from the same video at the 9 minute mark. His car is obviously rocking, but it does something similar to Jimmy's. I believe Jimmy's car is rocking also, but it's hard to see.
-Toby |
Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
looks like the same storm to me.
|
Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
It's the GOLDEN SHINE and the car rocking!
Toby we are enjoying all of your reporting, thank you and good luck!!! |
Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
It could be the phenonmenon like what occurs when filming (videoing) an object that's turning. For instance, propellors look like they're turning backwards, sidewall letters going backwards on racecars, etc.
I seem to remember Jeff Foster posting that stage beams are not steady, but rather they pulse. Could be the difference between the pre-stage beam pulse and Toby's camera's frame per second rate? Just a guess. More importantly, thanks Toby for all these videos. They're terrific! I don't see any decrease in quality on You Tube. Don't abandon the 'stills' either, as I like them as well. |
Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
Man, am I lucky. It was the typical deal in the lanes with nobody wanting to go up. They said they were going to start running Stock. There was only one pair up there and I figured I'm ready so let's go.
When I got to the front of the lanes they had already sent the first pair around the tower, so I started to get my belts on. By the time I got around the tower, the first pair was already in the water. Then they motioned for us to go out. About 20 feet across the line I remembered I forgot to put the last number of my dial-in on. I thought, oh well, not much I can do now. I thought he was dialed pretty soft. He ran a 13.02 last night and was dialed a 13.09. I was pretty sure it wasn't .07 slower than yesterday and I'm thinking the only way I'm going to win this is if he breaks out. I'm shifting the car a little higher this year so there's not much I can pick up there. I was going to put an 11.86 on and it would have ran an 11.87 all out. Maybe it's my day. -Toby |
Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas

Woo hoo! I finally won one for mom. It took me over two years, but I finally did it!
Thanks everybody. -Toby |
Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
It is great that the two of you have won.. If you think how hard it is to win one Wally in a weekend. It is 100 times harder to win two in one family by two different drivers... But what I want to know who was shotting the video??? LOL

Re: Live from the Summit Nationals at Las Vegas
Great Job of driving by both of you. Congrats! Way to represent Division 6!
