They will probably lose the paper work to the car and the car will not change hands. I've heard of things like that happening at auctions.

Re: 2010 Cobra Jet - No Reserve
Remember John Gallina's SS legal 7 second Buick? It sold @ BJ as I recall for $27,000...never to be seen again.
New race cars are not the place @ BJ. Old race cars are the opposite based on what I've seen. |

What a bunch of whiny, miserable people you are wishing bad things on people you don't even know. Your life must be really bad because misery loves company.

BTW I'm assuming you're refering to me hoping the seller of the car loses his shirt on the mustang. I don't see where I wished any physical harm to him, only in his pocket for a)not putting a reserve on it b) the fact that it's pretty safe to assume he's not a racer.A real racer wouldn't in his wildest dream think of selling one of these cars for $56K.A speculator needs to take a financial beating once in a while.Maybe then they wouldn't throw stupid money at things and ruin the market for real car guys. But I'm sure this doesn't matter one bit to you. You're most likely a keyboard racer anyway. Jack is a racer and maybe way back in his mind he sees my point, but that's for him to determine. |

I don't think they are clueless Ed. I think they know exactly what they are doing.... and being paid well for doing it. |

Yes, to them it's strictly business. Truth, honesty, fairness, and sportsmanship (as in racing) are not in their vocabulary. I think they've all read Robert Ringer. "Looking Out For Number One" The name of the game is to pile chips on your side of the table. Everything else is secondary. This is not a motorsports operation...... it's money game. |

I was told this same CJ sold at BJ last year for $110K. That IS a speculator. Not a racer!

involved with racing and their equipment. You have a nice fleet, cars, trailer ,etc.I'm sure you worked hard to get where you are today.I hold no ill will towards youi or any other racer with more than what I have (which is a vast amount of people). Take a look at the high profile speculators (some, not all) who are taking over the collector car market. They found a place to dabble and become a hero to their friends and adoring fans. Jack have no fear that I'm including you in that group. In the end you're small potatoes in the collector car market. But that's okay,if you enjoy what you do,good for you. |

Ed - The horse has left the barn - no amount of back peddling will help ...............maybe you should choose your words better .But then we can't forget your words - ain't America grand ...........

I agree....if it wasnt for speculators and dirt bag shows like Barrett-Jackson more regular working stiffs could afford to have a nice muscle car these days.

Ed, you can take my comment as you wish. But when are you on here with any positive comments or thoughts? Everything out of your mouth, I mean keyboard, is negative. You are entitled to your opinion, and so is everyone else. Comment all you want, but I am pointing out that your comments are very whiny.
Why in the world would you have enough time in your day to worry about what some guy you don't even know does with his own a car? How does that affect you? How is the market ruined? Most cars sold at BJ for big bucks are $50,000-100,000 restorations, not run of the mill cars that you see around town. People know what they are getting into at BJ so who cares? If you are looking for a muscle car you can go to BJ and see hundreds at one time which is economical. If you overpay that might be better than flying all over the place to look at car after car. |
