Well it is another beautiful day here in Indy! It is 62 and sunny, going up to 82 later in the day. We are listening to Bob and Tom on the radio locally since they are located here in Indy. Tech starts at 10 until 5, I think. I haven't seen the schedule yet, but was told that we have 3 runs on Wed. starting at 8, then start on Thurs. with class at 7:30. And what we have been told is that Class will be laddered, hopefully using a sportsman ladder. If your guy doesn't show up or breaks on Wed, you will get a bye. Once the ladder is established, everything runs off of it. I guess you can't show up on Thurs and run for class because you won't be on the ladder. I don't know if whoever thought up the ladder idea allowed for Thurs. arrivals.

By way of and through input from the SRAC and sportsman racers, for the first time at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals Stock and Super Stock Class Eliminations will be placed on a ladder. Ladders will be generated as a result of the qualifying runs made prior to the first round of class eliminations. Competitors who have not made a qualifying run before the first round of class eliminations will be placed on the bottom of their class ladder.

For the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals it is important that Stock and Super Stock competitors listen to all announcements. Due to a high volume of cars, classes will be called in groups to help expedite pairing.

Is Toby just spectating I did not see his name on the entry list. Somebody do us all a favor on the west coast and kidnap him for the next two weekends so somebody else can win at Medford and Woodburn Div races coming up or Ken send him on a far away assignment to report on like down under, he would like that.

Hello, everybody. Yes, it's true. I'm here at Indy! I flew down to Phoenix and helped Chris Ashley tow to Indy. She said she might need a helper and when Rusty Hall decided not to go I got my first big chance to be a crew chief! We had a front tire blow out on the dually on the way over so I have earned my keep a little bit so far. :) Chris doesn't need much help so I just try to stay out of her way. If she does need my help, she lets me know. :D

I will try post some videos this week. The hotel I'm staying at said they had high speed internet, but I can download faster on my phone. The upload speed is faster, but not great. Hopefully it will do the job OK.

And, Mark, who doesn't have a crush on Chris? :)

Thursday runs count toward Qualifying...of course that doesn't leave you much room for error or failing fuel check...you can't count on getting more than one run on Thursday unless you can win first round of class.

Ah so class run offs count? I just had a serious situation and lost last night and all day so far so i am behind and imagining that I wont get teched in time for 1st and maybe 2nd time run tomorrow. By the time late tuesday night or early wednesday come around is it not quite the fiasco to get pitted? Just have to park in the middle of know where? lol

Just finished up with tech, and I can see Patsy is on the job, great pictures as always. I took a few shots of the tech line, Indy is always a little hectic, but the lines moved fairly well.

The credential trailer also went well, there was a line, but it moved quick.

It looks like Wednesday morning will be the quickest shot for stock. The weather is supposed to get warmer on Thursday, but it could change.

Wow, sometimes drag racers can be as bad as 12 year old girls with the gossip. Thank you Toby for going along with Chris to crew chief since Rusty and I couldn't be there. Keep the pictures coming. Go kick some butt Chris! Wish we were there!

I don't believe they let them in after today. I have seen service trucks respond to the track There is a place on Crawfordsville Rd that does it though. Best bet is to check with an NHRA official about outside services. They can tell you guidelines and requirements.
