Yea, seeing how about 100 pros showed up to try to make the fields and about 670 something sportsman showed up for a go at the big show..Damn, wonder how much cash the NHRA raked in from the class racers? All the negative crap seems to slow me down on the two class cars we are building...Seems like it is too much of an uphill battle. |
Re: Thanks ESPN your rotten to the core
With all the sportsmen racers and family and friends if everybody wrote and emailed nhra and all the sportsmen sponsors maybe things will change. With better race coverage brings more fans and money.

I like the positive attitude though! |
Re: Thanks ESPN your rotten to the core
I just spoke with a good friend of mine that covers NHRA on ESPN. He said the finals of all classes will be on the Lucas show this weekend.
Thanks, Brad Rose |

Re: Thanks ESPN your rotten to the core
I am working on a survey/questionnaire about the current LODRS coverage and it will be about 5 or 6 questions. I'd like as many people as possible to do it and it should only take about 1 minute. I am going to send the results to ESPN and NHRA in an excel file. If Ken lets me, I will post the link on here and it will take to you the survey.

Re: Thanks ESPN your rotten to the core
My 2 cents. First off I LOVE Drag Racing!! I promote Drag Racing!! I invite all my friends and relatives!! I've PAID for friends and relatives to go with me just so they could experience it for themselves! Only a couple have ever gone back. Even with added exposure on ESPN I doubt it would increase the fan base more than what the true fan or racers and their families could do, it would only make us die hards happier(I'm all for that)! It's all about the Nitro, and that's ok as long as they can bring the sportsmen racing with them for the true drag race fans.

Anderson is an *****, always has been, always will be. Jason has all the class in that team. Jim

Re: Thanks ESPN your rotten to the core
I don't think that the marriage between Jason Line and anderson will last much longer.
The Line Family and Jason have way too much class to be associated with anderson. Congratulations to Jason on your Runner-Up finish at Indy and it might be time to move on......... |

Hey Headchopper if you read all the posts on this topic all drag racing fans agree that Greg Anderson class was pretty ****y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What would make Greg Anderson's day if Jason Line was to leave summit Racing and went to work for W.J. or better yet Victor Cagnazzi racing!!!!! I'm Racer also I bracket race snowmobile that is faster then anything you might have (8.60s) but maybe not also. |

Re: Thanks ESPN your rotten to the core
With 6 HOURS of coverage I thought sportsman coverage would be there. They filled in the between rounds of the fuel classes with so much BS that I tuned out. These fuel racers must really think the drag racing world revolves around them. Personally , I'm sick of the fuel cars , sick of Mike Dunn and the crew , sick of ESPN and the emphasis on fuel cars. I tuned out off and on throughout the day and EVERY time I tuned in it was fuel cars. Boring , ugly *** fuel cars ( at least the funny cars anyway ). I really hope this category just dies and goes away soon.
Pro stock is almost as boring any more. Pro Mod is cool , Super Stock and Comp are always cool. One of the reasons I prefer the heads up deals ( NMCA etc etc ) so much now is the variety and break from traditional NHRA style racing. The NHRA is an old , archaic sanctioning body that needs a complete overhaul. I rarely attend anything other than sportsman racing at the national events ( thurs ). Antron Brown , Tony Shumacher , Force etc etc ..........get over yourselves..............plenty of guys like myself aren't impressed with your "circus" cars . Please just go away..................FOREVER. ESPN , to all of you who covered the race at Indy , you could have had a nice blend of sportsman coverage with the Pro classes , which was EXACTLY what I assumed you were going to do..................instead you proved once again that you assume the world revolves around fuel cars...........and for this , you suck...............yes , you really do. |

Let's see what happens this Sunday with the Lucas Oil show, provided it's not programmed to follow high school lacrosse or bowling. If we get more than 30 seconds of Stock and Super/Stock coverage, I'll be thrilled!! |
Re: Thanks ESPN your rotten to the core
That was the worst ESPN NHRA show ever. 3 hrs. of drag racing streched out to 6 hrs. How many times do we have to see the Terry McMillen blow up? Total BS interviews. I can't believe I watched that crap when I should have been out working on my car. I can't believe they have Paul Page anouncing a sport he knows very little about. Or the Gary Geold stupid questions over and over again.
OK, I'm done. |
