Probably because NO ONE else wants the race (at least the divisional), now the JEG's deal, you would think the Coughlin's would hold NHRA's feet to the proverbial fire to maybe putting a little extra into the track for this event, but I guess even they don't have the clout -- good luck to all.

The weather is supposed to be good on sat and sun. 1 time trial in the morning, then class. They are still planning on getting it done in 2 days.

Other than Memphis being towed out of a LAKE in the pits, Columbus I believe set our own record of being Towed out 3 times. One year from the HIGH ground and after all the units were out it looked like the land had been PLOWED by the Giant tractors. Gee I still miss running there..

We had to be pulled INTO and out of a pit spot one year. I know you can't control mother nature but that place is a mess when it rains. Especially if your down in the 'bowl'.

Well the chili turned out good and it was nice and warming since it has turned a little cool here. It was still misting a little, but hopefully it will clear off overnight. I still haven't taken any pictures, but maybe tomorrow the cars will be out of their trailers and we can get some. I haven't been outside of our pit area today, so I am looking forward to sun and fun tomorrow!

Well we just made our first run of the day. It is cold out there! But Larry just said it is 60 degrees, just seems colder with the wind and dampness. The air was 1150'. There were 92 stockers that went down. Charley Downing is # 1 at 1.31 under. I think he and Ronzello are setting a record. They are running Super Stock now, then we have class after super comp.

A comp car oiled the entire track, so it has been a long clean-up. We gave up and came back to the motorhome, and now another comp car has oiled the track. Round 3 of stock class is in the lanes waiting, but we are going to be listening on the radio. It may be another half hour clean-up!

Well they have called super street to the lanes on this cool and overcast morning here in Hebron, OH. Stock is next for round 1. Congrats to all the winners in class yesterday! We gave up on them last night and went to bed before they finished up. Looks like Leonard Mattingly surprised Randy Wilkes in B/SA. At least one KY guy is fast. LOL

The weather for this afternoon does not look too good, so hopefully everything will move along smoothly this morning and get most everything in before it turns nasty!

Well we made it thru first round with a "not too stellar light" as Leo announced. But we won. First round "no shows" were Tommy Mattingly, Donnie Beeler, and Marty Buth. The air was a little worse than 1st run yesterday. Lots of moisture in the air. Everything is moving pretty well this morning, so hopefully it all gets in before the rain.

He said he broke a U-joint, which messed up the driveshaft and broke a couple other things.

I agree, great video. In addition to permanently mounted blinders, I see in Rock's GT/AA video from Indy two buttons on the wheel. I thought the rule was "maximum one button allowed on the steering wheel"? Hmm, maybe things have changed?

Thanks to everybody (racers wise) that worked with me getting class eliminations paired up as i helped out in the staging lanes on Saturday, I was exhausted when i was finally done at 1030 that night.

Does anyone know if this teardown was to establish exactly what the specs are for the CJ 5.0 and if so what rods/Pistons were in the motor?
I ask because it would help others who are attemping to do the same.
I know it will run "WELL" under the index and D/SA record.
