Sweet ride! I hope that you run a few races in the USA so that I have a chance to see it.

I may have cost my engines a full tenth with my fiddling. Just think what they would do without me massaging them.

I didn't do anything. The only time I touched the Jeff Warren tuning was to add the fuel for that whiz-bang MSD coil they told you needed more fuel. It slowed down, and I told you to just put back. Other that that one thing, I haven't touched anything since you got your Warren engines. You have been running very well.

If all the cards fall into place, our 69 Roadrunner will be a SS/GA by this fall. Gary Hansen.

Ain't nothin like a B Body Mopar in SS doing a wheelstand. That is a lot of iron in the air at one time. I miss my 69 Super Bee when I see that. Are yall using the new Alm. heads that are legal for SS?

Still working on the '64 Savoy Max Wedge B/SA but every time I'm ready to buy some parts something in the house dies and has to be replaced, it looks like I'll have a totally new house before the car is finished!

I've got a pristine '68 camaro body going to Rinehart's Performance in Thomasville, PA this winter or early spring to be made into a traditional SS car, small block combo with small tires (10.5 inch). My plan is to have it race ready by the end of summer or early fall, and run some IHRA events and combo's. Kinda thinking about putting a stick in too.

That is an awesome car JP

Sometimes I wish we had bought the Viper Jeff Teuton has for sale

We were going to run A/S

However - we could not have asked for a better car or better results in the first year

Good thing MOPAR built a race ready complete car and my boy can drive a lick

Turning the Viper into a competitive A/S car would have taken a long time

:-) peace

I first intended to build a stocker, but I soon realized it was a bad idea...
Jeffs car was not a Stocker or a Super Stocker, it needed a lot of engine, trans development to be a SS Eliminator car (NHRA)...
You already have a SS engine in your Stocker :-) and you know that!

I'll have a new SS/EA 1970 Nova 375hp-402 my own chassis design and fabrication. We have been doing our Horsepower homework and I would like to "Thank the Instructors" Jimmy Bridges, Chris Stewart, Gordon Merkley and the gang at Reher-Morrison. I will hopefully be testing at Mission Raceway in April-May. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone. Good Luck to all in 2012.

Maurice,,, welcome to the forum,,,looking forward to seeing this combo at Mission, hopefully in May at the Lordco event. I'm curious to see how everything fits under a flat Nova hood. I sure wish Chevrolet would've used a Cowl Induction hood on Novas back in the day, but they didn't. Theres a racer down here whos been eyeballing a similar combo in his '69 Nova for SS/FA.
Good luck with your project,,, you've got some good names helping you out, take care.

The stuff you copied above is LT1 info.

Just as long as it has a manual transmission...lol

Clutch just arrived from Brian Browell's shop yesterday. Now I can attach the flywheel to the installed crank and get the final flywheel to block dimensions over to Browell. Brian is building me a new bell housing (similar to the QuickTimeInc) and is building the bell housing to accomadate my desire to run a Bickell billet fork with heim joint attachments. Brian has the bell housing nearly complete and should have it done the week following after receiving my measurements.
Rich Bogart should have my new rear wheels done this week. Once we have those we can move the car to another shop on the facility.
Things are moving along and I want this car back home for final assembly (new fuel lines, data logger, etc., before June.

Danny... I have heard rumors of another "West Coast" Nova. Is it just "eyeballing"or is it in process. I had quite a set back in Oct. 2011, after picking the car up from the body shop (after a 9 month wait), I figured we'd take the car out to Mission to weigh it, before assembly. The car broke loose in the trailer and completely demolished the front end (still hurts), although extremely happy with the weight. The body damage was finished in Jan. 2012 and went to "painters prison" to be completely repainted 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping to get it back this week. I have waited along time to put this program in place, it represents years of huge homework and 2 years of spare time in the construction alone. I have met some incredible people since I initiated the project. I know that Chevrolet should have ordered a larger carburetor for this combination back in those days, because we'd be making power past 9000 RPM today (hood?). The car also is set up for a manual transmission and small block, than you can use a hood scoop and take most of the weight out.

Jeff...Did you end up doing the back half of your car? You had mentioned that you may be going a different direction when I bought that "Outlaw" kit from you. What are you old wheel dimensions? Thank you...Maurice.

No...the shop drug their feet until I was blue in the face. So I said screw it, I might as well go back into Stock. The wheels in the picture shown are 15 x 9's with zero 4 1/2" backspace. Unfortunately I sold them when I thought I was going into Super Stock! That's why I'm having new 9" wheels made by Bogart.

Maurice,, the car I'm referring to is in progress,, back half is done, suspension is in, wheels and tires are here, so its a roller. Pieces are being picked up, although slowly, since funds are a little tight for the young man right now, but his resolve is still in the direction of a 375/396 combo.
You mention a hood scoop on a small block-stick setup for yours, but I don't know of any traditional SS class with a Nova where a hood scoop would be legal.
Sorry to hear about your setbacks,, can't wait to see the finished product.

Re: Any new Stock Super Stock Cars being build for 2012?

I am upgrading the suspension on my GT/MA Olds. I still plan on running the 9" tire. I am not going to be a 1.0 car but hope to be able to run under at any track.

I had toyed with the idea of converting it to a stock class. But, I would miss the sound of my high winding "283". It's in the blood.

If things go right, I plan on attending some of the D5 NHRA events this year, both division and open races. I have not ran that much the last few years, and time is getting short. I best enjoy this sport while I still can.
