Re: Live from Pomona

It's a torrential downpour now. They called the pros as set. And now there is no way we will get a round in before curfew. We haven't heard a for-sure yet but it has got to be done.

Re: Live from Pomona

11 a.m. start tomorrow for the pros. Sadly, we have to be on a plane well before the sportman will probably run - if they even get to run tomorrow. Local forecast is for rain on Monday too..... :(

Sooooooooo glad we lost first round. And so sorry for everyone still in - wish you could ALL win for the trouble and time wasted waiting for the weather.

Beth you and Alex have a safe trip home and thank you very much for reporting.

See you at the races.

Obviously the info we got from the staging official was incorrect, or most likely, changed after we talked to him and went to dinner.

9:45 am start with stock. So we will be there to watch and take pictures! :)

What happened to the nothing but sun forecast they had a couple days ago? Winters has always been "iffy" but I respect all those who show anyway. Thanks for the posts and pictures.

Re: Live from Pomona

We aren't at the track yet, but rather still at our room just over the hill south of the track, about 1 mile away - and it's raining here. There are blue skies coming in the track direction, but more rain-is-coming-looking clouds behind the patch of blue. It is definitely wet this morning. Will update when we get to the track.

Oh, this? http://www.nhra.com/story/2012/2/3/p...ther-forecast/

Us New Englanders know better than to make a call on the weather six days out, especially when it involves a race.

I think they look better also, the car lines are too nice to cover up.

There is no reason to place stickers of parts mfg who do not pay contingency
even if they are supposed to.

x2 Danny, with the exception of Jegs & Summit, there's less and less of them that are going to be seen on my car too...although I feel that if I had the money to race one of those cars, I wouldn't need to display stickers over those cool paint jobs anyhow!

He staged and the red light came on. Similar to what happened to Dan Mason last year. Dan didn't get a rerun, so Jody asked why they were rerunning this one. Supposedly a photographer caused the red light to come on.

Somebody tell me how a photographer can cause a red light with infrared beams?

Whoa nelly ! ! This opens up a whole nother can of worms, if a photographer can cause a red light with his camera. If it was his foot i do understand that.

Toby Lang 02-14-2012 08:43 PM

Re: Live from Pomona

How could sombody do it with their foot? If the front tires are blocking the beams it shouldn't matter if a foot gets in there. At least not for turning on a red light, unless they have some type of reflective material on their shoe.

Toby i'm on your side bro. However alot of running shoes do have that reflective material on them. Who actually knows what happened?
