The days when Stock Eliminator was a lot closer to Stock, well policed, and wasn't completely screwed up?

Sure. Absolutely. And if the biggest price to pay is some work tearing down at the races, I'm all for it.

It was good enough for guys like Woodro Josey, Arnold Greene, Jimmy Bridges, and a host of others. It made the class real.

That's the tall, slender, kinda quiet gentleman, that is going a little gray? Sure like him too. Seems very fair. Told me at Indy "So, your getting a new helmet for Christmas." lol

I totally agree with Alan and if anybody wants to know who went to barn maybe NHRA should print it out or make the info accessible to the other racers after the meet is over. Would you like to know that the money you pay is being used to protect your rights as a class racer. Not asking too much is it ?

You make a fine point Finespline. As long as the deck isn't stacked against the racer (ie those in competition with Danny's West Coast posse), then get busy in the barn! From my experience, however, Danny loiters in the background passing judgment from afar, overruling his tech officials on a whim. Not a good feeling unless you are one of his disciples........

I don't know how you could say such a thing. My past experiences with Mr. Gracia have been nothing but pleasurable and down right fun! I think he gets a very unfair rap for being firm, and consistent. If it wasn't for tech officials like him, the cheating would be rampant.

Bret, I absolutely agree with you.

We got a number of horsepower hits by at least one car, and maybe two that had illegal engines.

A tear down for horsepower is fair for everyone, that car causing the hit, and proving to others that it is a legal car.

We actually got torn down for 1.20 under in Chicago, and were found to be totally legal. It should be about racing honestly, and be willing to prove it. I hadn't heard of anyone else being torn down for 1.20 under, but I think they all should be.

Hi Artie, Did you really ! Bottom line of that is it should be published to racers that you were torn down and whether you passed or failed and if you failed what for. Would you prefer that than word of mouth and stories getting mixed up ?

Would it be a problem to request N.H.R.A. rescind any A.H.F.S. hits where there has been no confirmation of the car and engines compliance with the posted N.H.R.A. specifications.

Has anyone tried?

Bret Velde

Maybe it's because most of the (new combo's) are so grosley under factored that even with the hit these cars can still run 1.5 under any time!!!

Re: Teardowns

Why have rules if you don't enforce them?? It's not like there are a bunch of car's that trigger the automatic 1.20 under AHFS at these races. Maybe 2 or 3 on a good day. So your telling me it would be too hard on NHRA to tear down these guy's to make the whole system work!!! Come on NHRA you're better than that. Remember being at the races with my uncle in the 70's and 80's and him being torn down all the time. I thought man that's cool they really try to make this is fair as possible. NHRA don't forget what made this such a great sport!!!!

I really don't know.... Art's car is a monster...And I just don't think it is fair for him to be able notch another record with this buzz bomb monster....

Nice work Art.

I hope you know that I am making a lame attempt at humor.

You know you are my hero man. Your kindness and information for Drooze and me wont be forgotten..

Well Done!
