I'll guess hydrazine based on your posting of the same car about the "no solid rocket fuel". Racers were playing with hydrazine about that time since nitro wasn't enough. LOL! It spawned such great photos, but my favorite is the Magic Muffler Fiat blowing the crank out the bottom of the car and the driver looking down at the carnage. One of those Priceless moments from the credit card company.

Re: Guess the Car
Anyone here remember these things called 'Zingers' that toured the car show circuit...several were built of different types of cars and all had their own names.

Re: Guess the Car
Those Zingers look like a real version of the Rat Fink shirts Ed Roth made famous. Less the Rat Fink though. The GIANT shifter is missing too!

Re: Guess the Car
Came across this thing...'guess the car' seems appropriate here.

Re: Guess the Car
obviously a Rambler American.........but why?
I'd bet that was a fun ride. |
Re: Guess the Car
Check out the front mounting point on them "track bars". Coupled with the short wheel base, me's thinkin the fun ride will turn into a fill yur pants ride before you could even react to it.
You, gotta ask yurself tho-----why??? Ya it's differnt but -----why???? liteweight ps it didn't even make this pass. Maybe the racing gods were looking down on him that day & saved this guys toosshee. Check out the guy pushing it behind the line, & the spill at the line |

Probably one that you've not been too, because I didn't even know they had a dragstrip on the island...PEI Raceway Park.

Now they can do what they always do. Turn a four door into a two door "holmogated" racecar. |
Re: Guess the Car
It has 4 letters on the front fender,,,, only 4 lettered car I can remember from Chevy is
Nova,, which this obviously isn't. It sure is interesting looking,,,,, maybe an LS9- 6 speed sedan, for Chevy's entry into the sedan wars,,,, look out Beemer boys! Danny Durham |
Re: Guess the Car
When I first seen the photo of that Chevrolet 4 door I thought it was the new Impala, because it had the look from the late sixties taillights.

Re: Guess the Car
Moose, you are on it! 2002 Mercury brought this to the International Mercury Owners Association Convention in Dearborn. Later I spoke to some of the engineers and begged for a 2 door coupe. If they would have, I would own it. I heard this one sold on Ebay shortly after, havent heard a thing more about it since.

This is pretty obscure. I took this photo at the Miller Reunion in Milwaukee last summer. No, it's not a Harry Miller engine, but it's from the same period. Think Francais! I love the engine turned finish.

Frontenac...circle track guys used them I think.

Let's try the car the engine was in. Italian name but they were built in France. I believe this one was from 1927.

This might not take too long to guess, but it is a cool picture of "performance"
