Re: Live from Old Bridge Township-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Good morning -- Its race day here at Englishtown and because of the ugly weather thats on it way we'll hurry the program along this morning .Its slightly overcast already but the Sun is trying to peek thru from time to time .The storm is coming and I'm sure of it - how you ask ? Woke up this morning with a terrible sinus migraine and thats a sure sign for me .And my bad luck continued after that - jumped in the shower and after a few seconds it dawned on me that I never turned the water heater on this morning .......my mind must be on "other" things .
Speaking of the weather it looks like this - 76 degrees -70% humidity - barometer at 29.68 with the final DA @ 2300 feet . One last thing - congrats go out to my longtime friend Dennis Banach who runs out of the Chapman Racing Stables and yesterday set the CF/S National Record with his '88 Daytona - Dennis , like many of us "old timers" still believes that piece of paper has meaning and value - way to go my friend ............... |

We've been racing for a couple of hours now - Stock got in round one ......what do you think the odds are of both the boss and I having heads-up runs ? More than that -what are the odds of both of us winning ? And yet it happened ...........that kind of explains why neither of us has posted much this afternoon .We were to runs more rounds this afternoon and night but the weather people tell us the bad stuff is coming .........and soon .

We are still racing here at e-town, but in about 1 hour it maybe be a different story. There are a line of thunderstorms heading our way. The good news is tomorrow is supposed to upper 70's and pleasant.
I would like to congratulate Paul Bailey, NHRA named him the South Central Division director. Anyone that races here at e-town knows Paul. He is a great guy with a terrific sense of humor, very professional and personable. I wish him luck and know div 4 is in good hands. The photo below is Paul holding a cake baked by Gloria Ley. The cake not only looks great, but it tastes great. |

Re: Live from Old Bridge Township-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Jack - did you hear a run order for tomorrow? Do we assume they'll finish SS and then go to round 1 of SG? If you hear anything please let us know. Thanks

Don, I heard super gas is out first and then they will finish super stock. I thought it was strange and may have misunderstood. Either way it will be ss and sg in the morning.

Re: Live from Old Bridge Township-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Good morning -- The rains have ceased - finally .And believe it or not today is to be a very sunny , crisp day that'll be perfect for racing with lower everything - temps and humidity included .At this hour its 67 degrees and the humidity is still 70% but is expected to burn off quickly this morning .The barometer is a little lower at 29.71 with the final DA @ just over 1500 feet .
There are many opinions floating around as to who's going out on the track first this morning - so far I've heard every category at least once - once I get the official word we'll post it - plenty of time as we can't start engines till 10 am. Back in a bit ............. |

Sorry everyone for the lack of reports. I lost second round and had to head out early. It was a beautiful day to race, temps were in the mid 70's and comfortable. Congrats to all the winners, DRC has all the results and it looks as if there was some great racing. This was the last D1 race, and from the looks of the point standings there will be some D1 racers heading south.
John DiBartolomeo of DRAG RACING ACTION Magazine www.dragracingaction.com sent me some more great actions shots, thanks again John. |
