The first copo camaros were shipped from oxford to wixom and that is where the first four were picked up by the owners. The first one out the door was paul cambrias #003 how do i know this. I was the one that picked it up.

Seems like many folks would like to have a pissin' contest about what they saw .If you really would take the time to read my original post it reads that I watched Jim Boburkas # 007 roll out of the build center first .What problem exactly do you have with that statement ? I was at the build center that day and watched it - and have many, many photos showing Mr.Boburkas' car at the door first .Somehow I'm not getting your point.....This is getting old .

Gump -They are very small but I managed to get out ..........and not very graceful .

Mack - The Victory Red is a sharp color for sure -- but I've never been a plain vanilla kind of guy - so , yes -- it'll be "plenty loud" after a trip to Ryan Koreks' paint booth .

Hemi Moose - Got a bunch of signatures on the inside of my trunk deck - including mine .

Larry - All COPO's come with Hoosier tires - not sure what's up with letter / no letter deal .

Danny - I'm gonna string a clothes line across the back for t-shirts .

It is keeping me on my diet!

I was told that they removed the white because it stood out too much and turned the cars into a billboard for Hoosier. They didnt want anything to take away from the whole COPO deal. You cant blame them for that.

We havent had any issues so far. I adjusted the shocks when I first took the car to Bowling Green and havent spun once. What combination do you have? Mine is a 427.

Might be because they have shipped so many cars lately. I think that its a cool piece of history. In years to come collectors will be arguing over what is correct!

Well , here's the thing - I can't believe I didn't notice - my car is "half & half " - the rears are white letter and the fronts are blackwall ...........like I said - leftovers ! ! ! Guess I spent way too much time standing next to the car posing and not enough time looking .........hmmmmmmm - does that mean I have a " one of one car ? " .Who cares anyway - my heirs will love talking it up .Me ? I'm gonna use it while I can still crawl in and buckle up ............

Jack I have been getting calls about this post. And all I know is I am one happy guy and have been a GM guy all my life. For what it is worth and to me it is just to put all this to rest The very first COPO delivered to the public and driven out of the factory was the #3 car which is mine.I drove it out and the others followed and you were there. For whatever that is worth it is the undisputable fact. But more importantly I am a really lucky guy because my car is unique. The first three were built from a body in White and as a result mine does not have the square patch on the roof where the onstar antenna goes for bodies taken out of the production line .Also the first three cars have different seats than the other 66.Now lets put all this stuff into the histroy books and enjoy these babies. And drive yours in good health and see you at the track.

Mr.Cambria - For months now yourself and others from your camp have tried to convince me that what I saw with my own eyes on August 7,2012 wasn't really what I saw .Since you are a learned man and an attorney I'll try and just state facts and nothing more .I agree with the fact that your car # 3 was the first car delivered to the public on August 8 , 2012 in Wixom , Michigan at the General Motors Powertrain Facility .

On August 7 , 2012 at the Oxford ,Michigan General Motors Build Facility I witnessed the first car roll out of the factory there .No ands , ifs , or buts .And it was not yours - it was car number 007 .It was followed by two white cars and then yours - fourth .

Websters dictionary ---- Factory -- A building appropiated to the manufacture of goods ; the place where workmen are employed in fabricating goods , wares , or utensils .My point is that nothing is built where your car was delivered in Wixom, MI thus its not the factory as you state .

As you'll see from the pictures below your car is fourth in line at the factory build center and last on the truck taking them to the Wixom facility .

Hopefully I've cleared this matter up -- Merry Christmas to all ...........

PS - Like you I'm a happy guy and have also been a GM man since the time I learned what those letters stood for .

Re: Live from Oxford , MI - the Camaro COPO story - Part 3

Jack you can slice it anyway you want you are the one who started all this non sense you can say whatever you want and I don't think either jim or I care. All that has been said by me is that my car was first out the door to the public and you were there to see it does it mean anything to anyone but me I doubt it. What I said was true . Jim's came out of the build plant first according to you and I don't doubt your word mine was the first delivered to the public and driven by its owner me and you can't doubt my word. Again who cares? Hey maybe the day before you got there they rolled the white one out and that was the first one the sun shined on did you ever think of that? Maybe you should write about something more interesting. Our statements appear to both be accurate. Now about who's car went 8.49 at 161..... Lets see you spin that one so you can do some more posting.Really jack you seem like a nice guy maybe we should have a beer at the track.Tell you what you can open your bottle first :)

So the purpose of the last few posts is to what, fill out the stories for the 2035 B-J Auctions catalog?
It's Christmas, you're all happy with your new toys, it's all good.

Quote of the year!

The build information is pretty cool to know. I wonder how far along number six was on that day?JK : )

Also of interest is that early cars had the padding removed from the carpet. I was told that some also have signatures under the headliner.

Has the problem with the blower car head gaskets been remedied ? Since rules state that no o-ringing allowed , what solved the problem or did Mr. Cambria plead the case to NHRA for o -ringing. Right person for the moment . LOL:confused:

First of all if you want to earn credibility use your real name .Secondly - I wrote what I saw and when you or anyone else calls me a liar it doesn't sit well with me .Every word with no exceptions has been and always will be the truth and nothing less .Third -- maybe you need to reread what I've written - that is that Mr.Boburkas car was the first to drive out of the Oxford Build facility -- i.e. - the Factory .

You will never , I repeat never be able to change the facts .
