Mike,

Not a big deal. I know you've been a busy guy and running 2 cars at events and going rounds in both has to make you forgetful on a few little items. It will be good to have you come on up.

I figured since we have some time off between the next pre-entry cutoff of August 1st I'd go over some of the cool give-a-ways we will be giving out at this years event. In the 1st round in both Stock & Super Stock the driver with the best loosing package will receive a $100.00 Gift Certificate from Auto Meter.

Thanks to Marc Erickson and his crew out of Sycamore, IL for the support each year at this event.

The next sponsor that is helping out for the Nitroplate Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia is ATI. ATI will be the 2nd round sponsor of the event and will present a $100.00 Gift Certificate to the driver in the 2nd round with the best losing package. I know the flyer says the first driver with a .000 light but, I've switched it up a little. Thanks to the Beattie family for helping out and sponsoring this event.

Also a big thanks to Joe Demarzo who I met with over the weekend at Lebanon Valley and will be supporting the event with the logo on the side of his car. Thanks Joe for the support and hope to see a lot of racers come out and support this event!

Remember racers once the racing is complete on Saturday Night please join us over by the end of the grand stands for the racers BBQ put on by Super Gas Racers the Donhausers and Myself. The menu is still being finalized but, it will be a BYOB. Not really sure what everyone drinks so it's just safe to say we'll supply the food, you supply the soda and adult beverages.

This years event we will present all the round winners their gift certificates along with the random prizes that we have more to announce in the upcoming weeks.

Hopefully this year we can get the Stock/SS guys and 90 Guys to Mingle together...it was like an 8th grade dance last year with them split down the middle of the field....haha!

The next sponsor I'd like to Thank is Brodix Cylinder Heads out of Mena, Arkansas. Originally the give-away from Brodix was going to be given away to anyone that entered the Stock-SS Race and or the 90 Nationals but, after further review I figured since we are giving away 2 K&N Hoodscoops and a DRE Dragster Cover to the .90 Cars it was only right to give something back to the Stock & Super Stock Guys and Gals.

So anyone who enters the Nitroplate Stk/SS Shootout presented by Autometer at Numidia will be thrown into a hat to receive the prize from Brodix. Unfortunately I haven't quite reached the status of Pete & Kyle at the Flings just yet to get complete cylinder heads but, I'm trying real hard...lol!

So whats the prize you ask? Brodix will be giving away a certificate worth about $500.00 towards the purchase of either (1) of STS T-1 233, STS-1 227 or STS T-1 215 complete or Track 1 Heads Complete with titanium retainers or 1 Set of BB 3 XTRA Clylinder Heads with 1.625-.800 lift valve spring complete. Now this is only a certificate so you will have to pay some money out of pocket towards the cost but, it's still a cool prize to win just for showing up at the Nitroplate Stk/SS Shootout presented by Autometer at Numidia.

Also a big Thanks to Mike Ficacci and the team over at Bongiovanni Racing Team who carried the logo out in Chicago over the weekend. Mike and the crew will be out in Norwalk this weekend racing so if your interested in the event stop over and say hi. Mike was there last year and will tell you how much fun he had at the event!

Want to THANK Bob Bender and the "Fat Girl" for carrying the logo of the event at the next upcoming events. Bob & Penny have been a friend of the family for 30 to 40 years and we always make sure when we are at Cecil we go out to dinner with them. So a big THANKS to Bob for the support! I know about 20-30 stock & super stock racers and I'm getting to know more and more as I go to more events and Bob has helped me to get to know more. I must say the support from the racers has been insane and a big Thanks to Mike Ficacci, Ian Hill, Bob Bender and Joe Demarzo who have been carrying the logos throughout the East Coast.

Happy 4th of July to everyone and a Big Thanks to all the Service Men and Women who risk their lives everyday so that we can do what we love....DRAG RACE!

Time to thank a few more sponsors because without their support this race would never happen. Next up I'd like to Thank Lenny and Dawn Croteau of Ultimate Converter Concepts. Lenny and Dawn are new supporters to the Nitroplate Stk/SS Shootout but, we supporters of the original CITH event in 2011. Even though they have relocated to North Carolina and left us racers up North to deal with the snow Lenny still makes frequent trips up North to make sure his customers are getting top notch service with his products. On any given day at a Division 1 event you will find at least one Ultimate Converter Concepts T-Shirt or Sticker in the staging lanes worn by Lenny's many, many customers.

Once again Thanks Lenny and Dawn for your continued support and please visit their website or call 704-892-6837 to find out what Ultimate Converter Concepts can do for you!

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t

I spoke with track owner Bob Dimino this weekend as I was up there for the MASGA Races. Just to add a few things onto the list....

As we all know the Englishtown Lucas Oil event is the weekend before the Nitroplate Stk/SS Shootout. Anyone who would like to drop off their trailers following the event may do so to save on travel and gas / tolls. The gates will be open till about 5pm on Sunday the 8th. Numidia has someone on grounds throughout the week to check on things and about the only thing you may have to worry about is Yogi Bear or Bambi stealing anything. The place is under tight security as a lot of racers leave their stuff their throughout the week. We will begin the next round of parking at 12pm on Thursday the 12th.

Also as some of you may know the NHRA Division 1 Bracket Finals will be run at Numidia the following weekend after the Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout. Anyone who may have qualified at their respected track and wants to leave their trailers at the track may do so. You may have to move them over to the holding area on the cold side. Also since the bracket finals are being held at Numidia they will be putting together 2 big dollar bracket races that will be held on Monday the 16th & Tuesday the 17th that will be open to all racers rather you made the bracket finals or not but, if you didn't make the cut you will have to remove the trailer by Tuesday evening to make way for the bracket finalist.

We will park everyone on the left side of the track and run out of the tower side staging lanes which have been expanded and are great. If we have any overflow we will park them over on cold side of the track.

Remember anyone who is looking for a hotel Hampton Inn in Bloomsburg is the official Hotel of the Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout. You will have up till Aug 24th to book your room at a discounted "Racers Discount". Please call (570) 380-1020 and it's located on 255 Paper Mill Rd Bloomsburg, PA 17815.

Last but, not least you still have 2 1/2 weeks left before the final pre-entry of $180 is over on Aug 1st.

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t

Proud to have Mike Bassin back for a 3rd year as the official "voice" of the Nitroplate Stock/SS Shootout. Mike did the announcing for last years event along with the inaugural Combo in the Hills event that Brian and Lee did. Mike is very knowledgeable on all forms of racing as he is the weekly announcer for Mason-Dixon Dragway in Maryland. Mike also was the "voice" of Numidia during the NHRA Lucas Oil Series events back in the early 2000's. Mike will be sharing the mic with Bob Reed who is the weekly voice of Numidia Dragway, Bob Dimino & Myself.

As far as starting line / track prep prep goes....who else but, the famous Mike Summers. For all of you D-1 Stock & Super Stockers who go "That guy looks familiar?" Mike was the starter at Maple Grove Raceway and Cecil County Dragway for many years including numerous Lucas Oil Events at those tracks. Mike is one of the very few who still does it "Old School" with scraping the track everyday, using the correct glue and prepping the track in between every class with spraying and gold dust. To show you how good Mike is at last weeks Super Gas event in 2 days of racing excluding qualifying their were 20 - 9.90's put up on the board. I know I'm speaking for the 90 guys but it just tells you how hooked the track was.

Hope to see a lot of supporters for this event. I have put a lot of sweat into this event to make it as big as previous years. I know we all have busy schedules and some say September is not a good month but, we really don't race at all in that month except E-Town and unless you travel 600 miles to Charlotte or to Columbus. Hopefully in 2014 we can make it even larger.

Just got the Ok that the Nitro Lounge is heading East...that's right Nitro Joe Jackson, will be making the trip out from Ohio with the Nitro Lounge to help out with parking, ladders and helping Ashlee out with pairing up cars and anything else I can find him to do. Joe is a man who can do it all and comes from a great drag racing family as both his parents were Event Winners in the .90 Classes with their "Scratcher" cars. Look for the yellow golfcart and the smiling face of Joe to guide you into the Nitroplate Stock/Super Stock Shootout presented by Autometer.

Norm,

The pre-entry portion for the event has passed. From now on you can just pay at the gate (200). We will have tents set up near the staging lanes that rather you pre-entered or paying at the event you need to come get your tech card, etc (similar to a Nat Event). This will be starting on Friday morning till the 2nd qualifying shot on Saturday. The shootouts on Friday night are optional and you can sign up for them also when you sign up for the event. The test and tune on Friday morning / afternoon is FREE and ANYONE can run them! Hope to see you make it out Norm...it's going to be a great time!

Well Angelo asked and you shall receive...

I’m proud to announce that Micro Strategies has signed on as title sponsor of the “Micro Strategies CIC Throwdown at Numidia.” The event will be held on Friday, September 13th, 2013. After last years great event with a good car count and competition, it was only necessary to add it onto the docket. Also, who else wants to see a final round of 2 Super Stockers doing burnouts to the 330 foot mark....I know I do! Nitro Joe and I will have the shoe-polish handy and ready to rock and roll at this event! The event will also be video taped and produced by Rob Need for Speed!

Established in 1983, Micro Strategies builds lasting relationships that are open and trusted. Many of their clients, including leading midmarket companies from the financial services, legal and pharmaceuticals industries, have been with them since their inception. Our customer satisfaction rating exceeds 96 percent.

With two offices in Denville, N.J., and Malvern, PA., showcasing solutions built through our strategic business partnerships. The Centers let teams refine technical skills and offer a way for clients to run proof-of-concept tests against unique requirements and get trained on newly implemented solutions. With two Solution Centers more than a hundred miles apart, we can uniquely demonstrate disaster recovery capabilities and business continuity solutions.

I will have a complete schedule posted in the middle of the week for everyone along with the details of the event, and logo so keep your eyes and ears open for yet another exciting event that is being added to the Nitroplate Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t

Rob - That's a beautiful thing - big thanks to the Micro Strategies Team for the support!
- it really was a blast last time - & yes a burnout to the 330 was very cool - what even made it more dramatic was the fact that my shifter jammed and couldn't get my car into reverse right away.... eventually i got it loose and the rest is history - the reason Bryan Worner & I did that was because it was pretty late and the track conditions were getting a little slippery... Even still my car was getting loose in high gear, drifting around, and I eventually decided to shut it down. (Thats not to take anything away from Bryan, as if I recall, we were spindle to spindle at the time..... outcome unknown).....

We ran that final very very late - Bryan and I were both sitting in our cars for over an hour (maybe more) while the Bracket cars were run through (seemingly endlessly). I was practically asleep as it was way past my bed time when we fired up & someone had to come over to wake me up..

I'm just kidding (sort-of) trying to ad some humor to the situation...... but if I could make a strong suggestion - try not to let that happen this time around - its too much waiting around, and also not safe to race cars "on kill" when the dew is setting in.... hey just my suggestion as one of the two finalists.... I'm sure Bryan and several of the crew people would agree. I know its easier said than done..... but I'm hoping there are a lot more cars in the CIC race than last time around. Bring your thin oil & and funky gas and have a blast. The fasted, or best hp factored car doesn't automatically win.... reaction times, getting down the track.... etc all play into it.

- it is very rare nowadays that a racer can put the full blown - banzi tune-up on their car, with several time trials to work up to the ideal set-up..... and "go for broke" w/o worrying about AHFS issues. If you've ever wanted to experience what Comp Eliminator is like - this is the way to go.

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t

Angelo,

The plan is to start a lot earlier this year with the CIC Race. One of the reasons is that it will be in Mid-September so it will be getting darker a lot sooner and it will be a lot colder then it was in the mountains in June (Even though the weather this summer has been one to scratch your head at...I broke out the sweatshirt at Cecil this weekend). Some of the Throttle Stop Cars had issues also that's why we moved some of the finals till after Saturday's Race. I'm also working on maybe not having the Street & Bracket Cars there that Friday Night but, for Bob and Numidia that is a BIG Money maker for the track as some people come in and pay the gate fee just to come get dinner from the concession stand and never watch a lick of racing...haha.

I will have a complete schedule in the next few days so you can start planning. I'm trying to work things out that we are a few rounds into the CIC Race before we get into the Quickfuel Combo event so racers can do both if they want too. I know it ran quite long last year and even had a small 25 minute rain shower.

Joe - you won't nessesarily get crushed - the more rounds you go the faster cars indexes are getting hit.... and the racing gets closer and closer. it really is a blast.

also cars on kill can spin, get loose down track, red-light, unload on the wheelie bars... it really is a shoot out.... plus you get a chance to see just how much et you can squeeze out of your car if you leave no stone unturned.

Joe,

Don't feel like the middle child on this! Just think of it as Angelo said "Comp Racing for Stock / Super Stock Racers". Right now the trigger will prob be .70 under the the pre 2011/IHRA indexes...just like Pat does down at No Problem Raceway for the Sportsnationals. I'll have all the rest of the info by the end of this week, just waiting to hear from Bob D on a few things.

Here is the logo for the event...Thanks to Jeff Serra over at In motion Solutions for the great artwork! Figured I'd go with a Cobra Jet...it was only fitting with the sponsor...lol!

Hey Joe,

I've heard this from a few people. When you call them refer to the Uncle Buck 90 Nationals. If you have any issues ask for Tara Thomas, she is the girl I've been dealing with on this discount. For any other racers who need a hotel room, you have till the 24th to book it.

Here is the details on the Micro- Strategies CIC Throwdown at Numidia. This will be a Stock vs. Stock & SS vs. SS event that will be held on Friday afternoon and be separated until laddered at 8 cars or fewer remaining in the race. Combined ladder parings will be qualified on reaction times of prior round, adjusted for contestants that may have had a random bye run. This is a no-breakout, first-to-the-finish-line race. First round "dial-in" is your class index. Subsequent rounds are adjusted for e-t greater than .60 under dial-in (including opponent red light start, just like Comp Eliminator). Once the dust has settled on Friday & Saturday and the Champions are crowned all the winners in each class will receive the "Happy Gilmore" Check as they like to call it. This Check is great to hang in your trailer to show the fellow racers and spectators of your accomplishments. 2 weeks from today....we start to park cars!!!

A big THANKS to Super Street Racer Kelli Barbato & Super Comp Racer Bill Hardifer for helping put together over 300 goodie bags last night at Bills House. I know everyone is saying "Ugh...Goodie Bags" but, these bags are filled with cool things including a Edelbrock 75th anniversary hat, a Nitroplate Hat, T-Shirt or Koozie, Weiseco Piston Key Chain plus your Nitroplate Stock/SS Participant decals and important information that is always asked around the track..."Whats the radio Station?", "Anyone have a schedule?", "When's the BBQ?" plus that important Tech Card to go racing!

As we all know, this event is being held along with the Uncle Buck Memorial 90 Nationals. For those of you who were wondering why this event is named the "Uncle Buck" Memorial 90 Nationals. Here is a short article that the famous Bob Frey did for Drag Race Central after his passing last April. I know a lot of Stock & Super Stock racers were friends with him including John Leach, Bunk Miller and a lot more. If you never did meet him I'm sure you have seen Ronnie at the track at some point during your weekend. At the event we will have a donation box set-up for anyone who would like to donate to Pancan (Pancreatic Cancer) to fight this nasty form of cancer. Last year we raised over $700.00 that was sent to the organization in Bucks Name. For every $5.00 that is donated this year your name will be placed into a box and a random name will be drawn on Saturday Night for a FREE entry into the 2014 event!

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t

What to expect and where to go when you enter the Nitroplate Stock/SS Shootout!

First off, anyone attending the Lucas Oil event being held at Englishtown this upcoming weekend and would like to bring their stuff to Numidia following the event the gates will be open till 6pm on Sunday. If you are going to be any later please call the track line (570-799-5090 / 570-799-5091). I can’t tell you if anyone will be there or not but, call first before you tow out there and you can't get in. I will not be at the track till Wed or Thursday of next week so I cannot help out in anyway. Once you enter the gates for the event on Thursday, you will only pay for any spectators that are with you. A 1 day pass is only $7.00, 2 day pass is $14.00 and a 3 day pass is $21.00. On Thursday all we are doing is parking cars and getting set-up for the event but, someone will be at the gate to collect the spectator cash. Gates will be open starting at 10am till 10pm on Thursday (If you are going to be late please call my Cell phone 856-332-2851 and let me know). The latest I will let cars in that night is 11pm so no 2am calls asking to get in. Nitro Joe Jackson of the famed “Scratcher” Super Gas & Comp Teams in Ohio is coming out to help with parking, pairings and anything else I can find him to do along with Ashlee Donhauser. So once you enter the gate, Joe will guide you to the spot for parking. If you have a special preference please let him know, we all know Numidia is un-even in some spots and can be hard to level out your rigs.

On Friday Morning gates will open at 8am. When you arrive you will NOT get your tech card at the gate. There will be 2 large tents set up near the winner’s circle with a banner. Once you are set-up at your pit area you will proceed to those tents to get your race packet. Stock Racer Gina Mocci & her friend Becca Stepanoff will be there to greet you and collect your entry fee at 8am. If you already pre-entered just let them know as we have binders with all the pre-entered names in it (We will make this as easy as possible). Also at the time if anyone would like to enter Micro-Strategies CIC Race or the Quickfuel Stock/SS Combo race you may do so. Tech will be opening at 9am up by the gas pumps with the Free Test & Tune starting at 10am. The Micro-Strategies CIC Race is scheduled to kick off at 12:30 for the 1st qualifier with 1st round at 1:30pm and 2nd round at 2:30. Lanes will be closing at 2:30 for the Test & Tune. Qualifying for the Quickfuel Combo Race will be at 3pm with 1st round hopefully beginning at 4:30pm. I’m still working on getting Friday to be just us but, Friday Night is a big money maker for Numidia and their street night, so I’m still awaiting word on that. If we cannot finish the special events we will move them to Sunday as we have the track all too ourselves that weekend.

Once again on Saturday gates will open at 8am with time shots beginning at 9:30am SHARP. We will be calling Super Street to the lanes at 9:15am. Once the 1st pair of Super Street is in the Water Box the call will be made for the next class which is Super Comp, then Stock, SG, Super Stock so be ready to go. Once Super Stock is finished we let Mike and his crew do a little track prep then go start over with Super Street. 1st round will be scheduled for 1:30pm so be ready to go. It will be random pairings for 1st round and if we have an un-even amount of cars the driver in Stock & Super Stock with the best reaction time in 2nd qualifier will get the bye in the 1st. Once we are finished with the event, the racers BBQ will begin at 7pm down by the end of the grandstands. If anyone would like to bring a side dish feel free and bring it down to the Donhausers trailer before 7pm. The menu will consist of BBQ Chicken, Corn & Hot Dogs. It will be a BYOB as everyone drinks a lot of different beverages so trying to guess will be a mystery.

On Sunday, the Mid Atlantic Super Comp & Street Series will run Race #7 of their series. Non-Members are welcomed to race with us. If there is enough interest we will run a Super Gas & Stock/SS extra race for those who want to do some more racing or you can head on over to Knoebels to have some fun or just go home and enjoy the day. If weather becomes a factor on Saturday we will use Sunday as the date and will have to cancel the MASSA & MASCA events (Lets just hope we don’t have to worry about that).

Sorry once again for the novel but, nobody can say they were not surprised 
